Guest guest
Dear Vedapushpa Moxa is renunciation. It is like retirement from employment without any further desire to know or work. When there is no desire left, any work is called love. Manifestation of ego such as fear, anger, greed, pride, calculations, accounting, scheduling etc. become irrelevant. All knowledge becomes effortless, and every one finds peace in you. Moxa in other words is called detachment. For example, if your neighbor is killed in an accident, you may be not so much worried. But if a injury is caused to your son, you will get too much worried. This means, the ‘worry’ is not proportional to amount of the loss but to the amount of attachment. You are more attached to your son, so worry will be increased; and a big loss (a person killed in neighborhood) will not count as there is no attachment. This is example of moxa or detachment. Attachment and detachment are step by step. If you get detached from lower job, only then you can apply and get attached to higher job. Similarly, people can improve in step by step, and get detached, and then attached, and this cycle repeats all the time till nothing is left to be attached, and the man becomes ‘Brahman’. Bhagwat Gita is a fire of knowledge that consumes our minds into knowing of our character and conduct. Characher is called SAWBHAV and Conduct is called KARTAVYA (worthy work). Sri Krishna says to Arjun how one should do what is his swabhav, and let not worry of its consequences. Like a fire or water, when it is left to its choice, KARTAVYA and SWABHAV united, and it will be unmindful of the results or consequences of its actions. This means, the attachment to unworthy karma is eliminated, and one becomes a ‘sanyasi’ and is free of any obligation towards others. He is self disciplined and aware. At this stage, He starts a journey of MOXA. If you will have further query, I will further send you my realization so far on the subject. Guest guest
Dear Krishna Gopal; I have read your commentary on Moksha and am curious how 'love' manifest just by the process of detachment from matter or total renunciation. Love general implies and object or person, so what is it that is loved if there is no more attachment? AvadhootKrishna Gopal Misra <kg wrote: Dear Vedapushpa Moxa is renunciation. Guest guest
Dear friend Avadhoot Thanks very much for your deep desire of learning the concept of the love of Sri Krishna. Love is a highly courageous act of the free will; with knowledge, free of errors; and not an act of mercy or affection or other acts of complicity (or compelled to). Imagine why Kurukshetra (a war field) was chosen as a source of the Bhagwat Gita instead of any hospital or mortuary or any merciful place. In fact, Sri Krishna started it all with need of teaching of Bhagwat Gita to explain Arjun a meaning of love that a sense of attachment with relationships of grand father (BHISM), brother (DURYODHAN), mother (GANDHARI) is not his Kartavya (conduct) and he should recognize his SWABHAV (self-character) and only do the duty appropriate to it, and without bias or attachment. Arjun was first initiated in the process of renunciation before he could even qualify himself to begin karma of war (or sanyas). Love in a traditional and untruthful sense is close to the idea of mercy, weeping, crying or attachment due to complicity (compelled to). Sri Krishna knew this problem, and was at a difficulty to explain to Arjun how much He loves him. He even told him that Hey Arjun, you and I have had several periods of live-death cycles even before this current one, but you forgot and I did not. Sri Krishna truly loves and does not show off like women weeping for a dying son. He has seen enough of the deaths. Weeping or crying or such acts of attachment are neither an act of love nor kindness. See how a doctor is in true love with his patient because he and his patient both undergo a pain of surgery. Love of Sri Krishna is manifested in His Bhakta like GANDHI. Gandhi was a terrible fellow. He knew true meaning of the love, and Indians with that great virtue had a unity of mind and win over their fear of the death. British people failed to fight with the theory of Bhagwat Gita that does not recognize death as end of the journey. That act of Indian struggle was called non violence. In my view, very few understand Bhagwat Gita as did Gandhi. This world is a MAHABHARATA. Sri Krishna is going to treat every Bhakta like that of Arjun or Gandhi (Arjun type) or mother Teresa (DRAUPADI type) or Einstein (Uddhava type). DRAUPADI, ARJUNA, UDHAVA were His true love. On this principle, every one should find karma (KARTAVYA – appropriate to SWABHAV) of his own, and be indifferent and unbiased to the results. He is a coach in HAKI game, and we are playing with sticks in our hand and not worry of injuries. Because Sri Krishna loves us, and as a fruit of love He will certainly take care of our interest of renunciation. For example, SWAMI RAMSUKHDAS is aware of the concept of love and therefore he took renunciation first; and that very process made him realize LOVE. His every voice now becomes full of love and kindness to us (Arjun in our lives) all in course of the struggle of MAHABHARATA. SWAMI is our well wisher in true sense; but not how love is erroneously understood with ‘attachment’ or relationships of father and mother and employers. This is basic reason of MOXA as prerequisite of LOVE. Summary: Those who are not engaged or initiated in an act of renunciation do not deserve his LOVE, and do not need it either.
