Guest guest
Even I am undergoing such phase periodically. I will share what I have been trying from one and other of the talks of Ramsukhdas Ji (between sept-Oct 94, available on swamiramsukhdasji.org ), that this occurs due to attachment to the peace resulting from bhakti or upasana. Withdrawal from physical activity is due to attachment to the peace, or due to aversion to the bodily discomforts. Meditation and prayer to Sri Krishna resolves everything in time. Although we may not realize that all that is there is only Krishna, i.e. Vasudevam sarvam iti, but we can definitely pay attention to the discrimination created by mind and body between sukha and dukha and treating them equally as ultimately both come from GOd and are prasad of Sri Krishna. One Muslim saint Rabia has said that loving God means welcoming miseries and loneliness with open arms. With time, when we have gone through his Prasad willingly and joyously and realized that this is also Krishna's prasad, then everything falls in place. Then there is one more thing I have realized that my body, my mind, my pleasures, my sorrows, my whole self is only Sri Krishna's. All the loneliness and pain comes from Krishna, as a medicine for our disease, and how can we know that it is bad for us, only Krishna knows why it is there. Some things about Krishna are : 1. He knows everything. 2. He is all powerful and capable of doing anything, removing our sufferring too. 3. He is ocean of kindness and compassion. 4. He personally takes care of every responsibilty and need of those who are dependent on him solely, though sometimes things may look unpleasent for us. 5. We can never understand his plan, his grace, but we can trust and surrender. 6. Someone who has surrendered to Krishna, even for once, he or she is never forsaken by Him. Even without surrender to Jiva is always part of God, and inseparable. Lastly, all the pain and sorrow results from giving power to the world and environment, independent of GOD. In reality only Lord exists, and every thing is His leela. All these give relief to me. Reflections on these open my heart to Lord and all mys sorrow disappears. Guest guest
Very practical and understandable suggestion as experienced and mentioned below. If I can add, it would be to inquire further, more deeply and find out why this is all God and nothing but GOD. On realizing this, the surrender(of one's EGO) comes naturally and the world is only in appearance, where as only God IS! ----- , " Yogesh Kumar Katare " <ykatare wrote: > > Even I am undergoing such phase periodically. Guest guest
Love and Love alone.... Well said. Yes, the more we forebear, the more we get closer to HIM, undoubtedly. Pain or Dukha cleanses one's inner-tendencies. We have always two options in front of us, to accept or reject. Either way, one has to undergo and experience karma-phala. Instead of crying and cribbing, let us welcome it with open heart as prasad of Lord, and feel that God has given us an opportunity to cleanse our selves. Anyhow, we have to undergo this experience. The attitude on our part will bind or elevate us. If we crib and cry, it will bind us and if we accept and happily undergo the experience, it will cleanse us. At the end of Kurukshetra War, when Lord Krishna asks every one what they would like to have from Him. Only Kunti, asks for unending pains and says that " if we are in happiness, we tend to forget Your presence and thereby distance ourselves from You. I know without Your help and blessings, Krishna we would not have won the Kurukshetra battle at all. You were and are with us in thick and thin, at all times and under all circumstances. And, now, I do not want to distance myself from You. So, kindly bless me with dukha and pain, so that I remember You always. " The basic philosophy of present saint, Sri Sai Baba of Shirdi, is on two very important pillars, i.e., Shraddha and Saburi, in other words, interest and ever eagerness to open up oneself and learn and forbearance and perseverance. Ones will-power increases tremendously, if one develops the attitude of accepting everything as HIS blessing to us. Love and Love alone.... P. Guest guest
Shree Hari Ram Ram From Swamiji's Messages: It is mentioned in the Upanishad that even " The Lord felt lonely (Brhandaaranyaka 1/4/3), so He manifested Himself in different forms as part of His divine sport. Swamiji has talked about this in many places, that Atma (Self) can only be satisfied with Paramatma (God), because we are a part of God, a spark of the Divine Fire. This feeling of separation, loneliness is our longing. A devotee cannot bear the separation from God, our Source (even though we do not always realize this). Until the sense of " I " becomes identified with God (Self), this separation, this loneliness remains. From the perspective of one following the discipline of knowledge, temporarily we satisfy this loneliness by gaining pleasure from ephemeral things - people, objects, thoughts, ideas, etc. But this illusive material world will not be satisfying and we will negate that which is not permanent and eternal, and ultimately we will become established in the Self. Swamiji says that from a Devotee's perspective, there is only God, and He is Mine. Let us be aware of His grace at all times, in all our relationships and in all our experiences. Therefore, even in the feeling of loneliness, it is Him only, as this mind, this intellect, these feelings, all are Him and Him only. A Devotee does not exist. Only God exists. There is no separation between God and you. No separation between real and unreal. Let us feel His presence in everything, even in our loneliness, when we want to move away from other people, when we find mixing with people as useless, it is all Him. There is no need to get rid of this feeling, only accept His presence in everything, as there is nothing else besides God. There never was, isn't and never shall be. Gita 7:19 and majority of Chapter 7; Gita 9:18; 10:39; 10:20; 10:32, 9:19 and in many more shlokas God conveys this message to us. Guest guest
Very good and nicely said. There is nothing but GOD: Sarvam khalu idam Brahman(Ishwara)! Atman is Paramatman only, part is the whole. Ultimately even words used to describe are finger pointing to Moon(Concepts). This same realization is on the part of both Bhakta and Gnani and Lord Krishna says Gnani Bhakta is shreshtha (most excellent). Shankara who was Gnani in his song Shivoham Shivoham Sachidanandrupoh and also bhakta in his Bhaj Govindam! --- sadhak_insight <sadhak_insight wrote: Shree Hari Ram Ram From Swamiji's Messages: It is mentioned in the Upanishad that even " The Lord felt lonely (Brhandaaranyaka 1/4/3), so He manifested Himself in different forms as part of His divine sport.
