Guest guest
This is a very good question which I would like to extend by adding: " Why should one try to achieve salvation? " The 'What' part is a question of knowledge. From what we have read, I think salvation is the end of birth/rebirth cycle as the soul merges into Parmatma. But, how does it help me by just knowing it? The 'Why' part is to feel or experience the joy on the way to salvation. We feel the joy of material world (or Maya), and hence go for more of it. Can we experience even greater joy going on the path of salvation? ============================= , " anjudinesh2000 " wrote: > > I am curious about attaining salvation. Guest guest
Pranams,I currently view myself as a limited individual.I am constantly seeking - money, power, love, comforts, health - no matter who i am or where i am or how much i have - the one constant in my life is ever a sense of want, i find myself unacceptable to myself.Salvation marks the end of this search.I understand I am nonseparate from the whole, i am complete, i am poornam. Nothing can add to my fullness nor can anything take away from my sense of fullness. The peace in this knowing is salvation.Temporary glimpses of this poornatvam is seen by us everyday whenever this wanting me is resolved like when we laugh at something, when we admire a beautiful sunset, etc - this wanting me is no longer in the way, but since he is not dead, he rears his ugly head very quickly. The ultimate death of this wanting me comes only from right knowledge about who I am and for this self-enquiry - atmavichara and surrender - sharanagati are the only means.Hari OMShyam anjudinesh2000 wrote: I am curious about attaining salvation. Guest guest
Very well said, the ultimate salvation is knowing Purnata of Being followed by sponteneous ending of " me " . ...Pratap --- Shyam <shyam_md wrote: > Pranams, > I currently view myself as a limited individual. > I am constantly seeking - money, power, love, comforts, > health - no matter who i am or where i am or how > much i have - the one constant in my life is ever a > sense of want, i find myself unacceptable to myself. > > Salvation marks the end of this search. > I understand I am nonseparate from the whole, i am > complete, i am poornam. Guest guest
Namaskar,Gita does not prohibit seeking money, power, comforts, health. It advocates active pursuit of one's goals without getting attached to the process and the results. Salvation is when there is no attachment in absolute sense, friendly regardss.seshadriShyam <shyam_md wrote: Pranams,I currently view myself as a limited individual.I am constantly seeking - money, power, love, comforts, health - no matter who i am or where i am or how much i have - the one constant in my life is ever a sense of want, i find myself unacceptable to myself.Salvation marks the end of this search.I understand I am nonseparate from the whole, i am complete, i am poornam.
