Guest guest
Sir, What you say is so true. Unfortunately, in my case, knowing all the truth, the mind does not readily accepts presence of God and is immersed in the visible, perceptible material world around us and worldly relationships. How does a novice take first step in this direction ? Does it involve prayer or japa? Any guidance please? regardsSadhak <sadhak_insight wrote: :Shree Hari:Falgun Shukla Ashatami, Vikram Samvat 2063, Shanivar24th February 2007, SaturdayRam RamAt the initial stages when engaging in a relationship, the mind may wander and go to different places. But we must have a clear aim, a clear focus, a single pointed direction. Thereafter the mind will not wander in different places. The mind will remain on only one. Just like with our daughter, when we are trying to find a match for a life partner, and while discussing the various eligible mates, the daughter will be listening intently to the conversations that are transpiring of all the eligible ones. But for how long will the daughter pay attention and show interest in such conversations? Only until her engagement has been finalized. Once her life partner has been selected, and a relationship has been established, she will only pay attention to conversations related to her fiance. She will no longer have interest in listening to talks about other eligible men in the same manner. Even if she listens in, she does not pay much attention to it. The reason she intently listens to conversations about her fiance is due to the newly formed relationship. If there was no relationship, then there would be no interest in listening. Many conversations take place during the day, but we do not listen to all of them. So why do we not listen to talks about God? It is because we do not have a relationship with God. When we will engage in a relationship with God, then we will only want to listen to talks about Him. After that, who will want to listen to umpteen different things? Tell me ! Even if you listen, it will have no impact. Just the way your daughter listens to talks about other men, in the same manner you will listen to other types of conversations (i.e. with little interest). We must have a relationship with God. When we have a relationship, we want to know Him and thereafter naturally, innately any talks about Him will appear sweet. After that why will the mind go anywhere else? Where will it go? We have no concern with anything else, my brothers and sisters. "Hame kyaa kaam duniyaa se, Hame Shri Krishna pyaare hai ! Yashodaa Nand ke Nandan Mere Ankhon ke taare hai." What is our interest? What have we to take from or give to the world? There is nothing to take. There is nothing to give. We only have God, and He is ours.
