Guest guest
Namasthe, Have you read MAHA BHARATH. On the last chapter Srikrishna and Arjuna are sitting under a tree and discussing. Then Sikrishna sees his wives are being taken captives by Dacoits and are being taken to their lands. To fight them Srikrishna calls for his Sudarshana chakra, but it does not come, then Arjuna tries to take the Gandhiva but finds he can not even raise it. Then Srikrishna tells Arjuna that every man comes to this world to do some thing which nobody knows before hand and once that work is fininshed every one has to depart. After saying this Srikrishna leaves his mortal body - SAMADHI- then and there. The lesson? Do the job as it comes but do not get attached to it, once finished leave as early as possiblle. We do not know for what we have taken this birth, and what are all expected from us. Just do what ever comes to you and once you are sure you have nothing to do, leave this place. But never feel that what ever is done, is done by you, you are only instrumental to do a pre determined deed, once you finish that pre determined job you will see that you are immobilised, and no human effort can make you mobile again. Understand that you have finished the job allotted to you. It will be a great moment difficult to digest but you will have no other way. The modern man may say it is suicide but the hindu calls it SAMADHI or DEH-ANTH. A decision may be difficult to take but for those who are not least bit attached to this mortal worldly matters it should not be difficult to understand and depart. That is the KARMA YOGA. Do the job what ever it is mechanically unattached and feel that it is some unknown force is making you do so and so job and surrender to his or her will all your actions. That is all we can do in this world. --- sadhak_insight wrote: > please tell me how should i lead a life in the > modern world > where i am facing lot of distractions, short falls > etc > > thank you > " vvavadi " > > Gita Talk Guidelines > > FROM THE MODERATOR > > The following are the guidelines for Gita-Talk > discussions. > > 1. Guest guest
Dear Sadhakas, Namaste! Start living life from wherever you are! You are at the place where no one else is! Everyone is differently conditioned. people have different outlooks, attitudes, desires, fears based on their situations in life. So others' answers may not work effectively in your situation, one needs to find out for one's self. General suggestions: *Start acting from what you have understood about life from your experiences that bring joy, peace, love, beauty. Hint: None of these necessarily require external objects. *Never to act from personal desires and fears. *Don't look life as modern or with short falls, etc. It is neither. Life is what we make of it by following Dharmas in all our Karmas. Dharma means righteousness, not dogmatism, or performing rituals mechanically. *Acceptance of what you already have and not desiring what you don't have. This attitude ends conflicts. *Just relax, spend time in nature, eat healthy foods, exercise regularly and above all spend time with like minded friends who love truth-satsangs. *Don't be afraid of modernity of life, embrace it! Above all BE GRATEFUL for Life itself, Trust it knows better. *Ask " Who am I? " and don't answer with mind, but remain prayerful. Namaskar! lovingly....Pratap -------- Dear Sadhak, If you are really looking for peace, may I suggest that you please fix a time in 24 hours when you are not likely to get disturbed. This may start with atleast one hour and slowly be extended to atleast three hours (three hours is one pahar and is also called Brahma Samay). Please earmark this time for your God. At this time best is to try to take your mind away fron the world and chante as much name of God as possible. For your infomation, I understand that we breath 21,600 times in a day. Hence, we should make an effort to chant the name of God with each breath, and after some time this becomes natural and second nature and happens on it's own, automatically.
