Hi,

Kindly study the following:

Saadhan means the efforts one put to purify the mind and become as a fully enlightened being with the help of righteousness. Asana, Pranayama, Japa and Meditation are also can be called as Saadhan.

By asking this question you have taken one wholesome step in your Saadhan. Like this one will take many steps to become as a perfected being. Some of the steps are acquiring knowledge to stay away from sinful actions and do wholesome actions (Like reading BhagawadGita, reading spiritual books and other scriptures which guides you on righteousness), Controlling the mind through different techniques like Asana, Pranayama, Japa and Meditation, Surrendering to GOD and remain connected to him at all the time and Serving fellow beings for their upliftment.

Even if you think like O GOD I am so Ignorant please enlighten me.. please protect me from the worldly illusions.., you are progressing in your Sadhana.

All the best!

Sadhana does include this and it covers a much wider scope. It differs fromperson to person. If unable to decide for self, then it is better to work under guidance of an advanced Sadhak to decide specific Sadhans. Jayantilal Shah

Yes sadhana means the practice of doing certain things regularly. It could be a number of yogic excercises, pranayam, vastrika and kriya to repeat daily for our physical, mental and spiritual well-being. This is called sadhna. Hari Shanker Deo

NEW POSTING

Priy Sadhak,

When sadhana is done in sharan (refuge) of prabhu ji (God) then it becomes very simple,

Like Lord Ramji said to Kakbhushundi in Manas

Mam prasad nahi sadhan kheda.

Or swamiji said sadhan (spiritual practice), sadhya (Goal, God) & sadhak (Aspirant) merges to be one thats fully self content & Karan nirpeksh (instrument independent)

Thanx

Raja Gurdasani

Ram RamDear Prabhakarji,I am pasting 2 excerpts from Sadhak-Sanjeevani which succinctly answer your question.1. Commentary of verse 6/25 Except meditating in seclusion, even while carrying out other activities sadhak should accept that Parmatma pervades everywhere. While working when sadhak is vigilant and accepts Parmatma's existence, then he will get lot of help in meditation and while meditating in seclusion if sadhak ignores other worldly thoughts and remains firm in Parmatma then it will help him lot to remember Parmatma while working. Those who are sadhak they are not a sadhak merely for an hour or two, they are sadhak for 24 hours. As a Brahmin is always situated in Brahminism, similarly every jeeva is also situated in Parmatma. A Brahmin is born but Parmatma is not born. But when working, as attention is towards things, activities, persons etc., Parmatma which resides in them is not visible. Therefore while meditating in seclusion and carrying out worldly duties sadhak's eye should only be over the fact that in every country, time, object, person, incidence, action etc. Parmatma pervades completely as it is. He should be situated in Him and not think of anything else.

2. Commentary of verse 12/1 Sadhak makes a very big mistake that while performing spiritual activities , he thinks that he is one with God, but while performing worldly duties he thinks that he is one with world. The reason of this mistake is that he has not fixed God-Realization, as the only aim of his life. If he realizes that the only aim of human life is God-Realization, and sticks to it, all his activities will conduce him to God-realization. If a sadhak thinks of the Lord, at the beginning of an activity and its end, it means that he has thought of Lord, even during the performance of the activity, in the same way as the accountant while making entries in his accounts book, gets so much absorbed in it, that he even forgets who he is, and why he is making those entries and calculations. His concentration is only towards figures. Before tallying his sentiment was 'I am XYZ, an accountant and am tallying these figures for so-and-so work'. After finishing with tallying his sentiment is 'I am XYZ, an accountant and was tallying these figures.' Though it seems forgetfulness while tallying, it is actually not forgetfulness. Similarly, a sadhak also believes that he is God's and whatever action he performs it is only for Him and doesn't have an iota of doubt in it then, when he is engrossed in performing duties his apparent forgetfulness of God is also not considered forgetfulness. Thanks,Hare KrishnaVarun P. Dear Sadhak-insight

Sadhana means worship which includes nine types of Bhakti including yoga and meditation practice. Each and every person can reach to God by adopting any one of the ways In meditation we have to go further by stages.First start with prayers, then postures, then mind becomes vacant we reach the stage of Samadhi then enter into actual concentration and finally reaches the stage of meditation giving us an opportunity to go nearer to God.Finally we aspire to achieve liberation. It comes after constant prayers, meditative practices, chanting His glories, performing social services and other methods of worship. It is a matter of actual experience rather than discussions .Faith play a significant role in such spiritual Sadhana This is my personal approach to Sadhana

Truly yours
