Badri Narayana Miriyala -------- Shree Hari: Ram Ram 18th October, 2009, Sunday, Karthik Krishna Amaavasya We belong to Bhagwaan (God). Even if we forget this point, then too this point will remain as-is. Because forgetting or not forgetting is in our intellect, not in us (Self). Our relationship is neither with forgetting, nor with remembrance. We are simply as-is " chetan amal sahaj sukh raashi " (consciousness, free of all impurities, and ever blissful). What is there to forget or remember in us (self)? We are conscious (sentient) and the sattva, rajas, tamas gunas (various modes of nature - purity, passion, inertia) are inert. We establish a relationship with these gunas (modes of nature) therefore they bind us. If we do not hold on to these gunas, they will do nothing to us. Inspite of our selves being conscious (chetan), we grab hold of the inert, and therefore get trapped. If we do not grab hold of them then these gunas (modes of nature) will remain in nature (prakriti) - " prakritisthaani " . They will not come to us. In this there is not the least bit of doubt. If we do not give support to these gunas, they will not be able to twist our arm, cause even a single strand of hair to curl. They do not have the strength. Whatever be our actions (karmas) in millions of births, they are destroyed immediately on acceptance of the Lord (Prabhu). " Sanmukh hoi jeev mohi jabhi; janam koti agh naasahi tabhin. " (Manas, sunder 44/1) Old sins will be destroyed and new ones will not take place at all. Because sinful actions happen, when we consider this world as ours and desire something from it. If we do not accept this world as ours, and do not want anything from it, and accept Bhagwaan as ours, than at this very moment, sins of millions of births will leave us. Bhagwaan (God) is ours - this does not need to be repeated many times. Just like we accept mother as our own. We do not have to repeat it many times. Mother has become our own, but Bhagwaan has not become our own. When we came into the mother's womb, and when we drank her milk, then she became our mother. But Bhagwan has been our own from eternity and will always remain our own. Not a single relationship in this world will remain. If death comes today, then all relationships of this world will end. Only that which is " not " (not existing) ends, and only that which " IS " (ever exists), remains. That which is going to remain (exist), hold on to that point, and remain focused on that - that is all the work that we have to do.
