Sri:

Srimate Rangaramanuja Mahadesikaya Namaha

Dear Bhagavathas,

The momentous celebrations of the 69th Tirunakshatram of

paramahamsEtyAdi Srimath Andavan (Srimushnam) --

srI rangarAmanuja mahAdEshikan came to a close yesterday

afternoon at Chennai.

During the five day long mahOtsavam, the precincts of

the Alwarpet Ashramam was " Bhooloka Vaikuntam " for veda-

vedanta abhimaanis, and shishyas/admirers of 3 prominent

Srivaishnava Yatis.

A few highlights:

-- The participation of paramahamsEtyAdi Srimath

abhinava VAgIsha Brahmatantra Swatantra ParakAla

Yatindra MahAdEshikan of ParakAla matam,

AND

Paramahamsetyadi Sri Rangapriya MahAdeshikan.

-- tiruvArAdhanam of Lakshmi Hayagrivar, presiding deity

of srI parakAla matham. This vigraham has been worshipped

Swamy Deshikan Himself.

This is in addition to the regular tiruvArAdhanam of

Sri Venugopalan, salagrAm-perumAls and pUrvacharya

pAdukAs of Srimath Andavan Ashramam.

-- Grand vEda saRRumuRai of Shukla Yajur vEdam, Rg vEdam,

Taittriya Krishna Yajur vEdam, kauthuma sAma vEda, and

Jaimini sAma vEda, followed by saRRumuRai of GranthAs, thiruppAvai,

amalanAdiprAn, Iramunuja Nutthanthadi, adaikkAlappattu,

pillai AnthAdi, perumal-piratti-pUrvAcharya sambhavana.

-- Due to the massive turnout yesterday, distribution of

perumAl and achArya pAdukA tIrtham took well over an hour.

-- Felicitation of 35 Vedic Scholars in recognition of their

outstanding contributions in the preservation and propagation

Chatur Veda, Vedanta and Bhagavath Vishayam.

Each one of these stalwarts was conferred an appropriate

title, chosen by Srimath Andavan Himself.

-- An emotional moment for all as Sri P.V. Rajagopalachariar

Swami of Thiruvaheendrapuram exclaimed on the dais that

Srimath Andavan, (who is truly a sarva-tantra-swantatar) was

an incarnation of Swamy Deshikan Himself.

-- Ashramam has published a compilation of 18 of the essays

that Sri Sadagopan Iyengar of Coimbatore posted online.

Free copies of the book were distributed for all.

-- Divya dEsha maryAdai for all the 3 Acharyas.

-- Sri Rangapriya Maha Deshikan's anugraha bhAshANam was

on importance of celebrating an Acharyas's Tirunakshtram.

-- Srimath ParakAla matam Swamy spoke on the support in the

Upanishads for emperumAnAr's darsanam of saranAgathi and

mOksham and the significance of our achArya's thirunAmam -

" srI ranga-rAmanujam " .

-- Srimath Andavan pointed out that it is our duty to

preserve the " dhanam " of our pUrvAcharyas and that we must

contemplate on their anubhavams at all times - whether

studying, working or performing some 'loukIk' (worldly) task.

-- Sambhavana for Srimushnam Srimath Andavan.

-- Well-coordinated arrangements for tadIyArAdhanam.

-- vEda pArAyanam was done over 5 days in addition to

pAduka sahasram and srImath rAmAyanam.

Recitation of complete Rg vEdam, (kAnva shAkha??) Shukla

Yajur vEdam, Taittriya Krishna Yajur vEdam and two sAma

vEda recensions - Kauthuma and the " endangered " Jaimini.

(Personally, adiyen was quite pleased that the sAma vEda

Kauthuma shAkha pArayana gOshti really stood out, by

sheer turnout as well as sonority :-)

Let us all pray that the Divya Dampthigal grant

Srimath Andavan and all our Acharyas with good health and

long life so that they can continue to lead us to a new

golden Vedic period.
