Guest guest
Sirs, I am based at Chennai and till date I was never serious either in the religion nor in its preaching, except that when people ask me about religion, I say I am a vadagalai iyengar. Offlate, I feel that I should know more about the background of our religion, its preachings, about andavan etc. etc.., but now I am not sure how to proceed and at times also think that it is too late. (I am 36 years old) I intend to learn the basics of our religion and would appreciate, if one of you could throw some light on how to proceed. Kind regards, Ravi Get better spam protection with Mail. http://antispam./tools
Guest guest
By the way Sir, trust you are involved with the trikala Sandhya in any case...To start at the basics at least in these matters, the first and foremost requirement is to follow the Vedic stricture namely perform the nityakarma without break. If this is ignored or neglected or given less importance then even if you understand the most intricate of philosophies and knowledge it will be meaningless. Age, physical condition etc. does not matter. All that matters is that is if one has not started, you may start with immediate effect. i.e. maybe from tomorrow morning itself. Om tat sat Tat tvam asi Ravi Parthasarathy andavan <meelaravi@ cc: .com> Understanding basics 03/01/04 02:38 PM Please respond to andavan Sirs, I am based at Chennai and till date I was never serious either in the religion nor in its preaching, except that when people ask me about religion, I say I am a vadagalai iyengar. Guest guest
Dear Ravi I will give you easy steps to become part of the Lord Narayana. 1. Get up in the morning and say " Sriman Narayanou Charanam Charanam prabadthye Srimathe Narayanaya Namaha " and start the day . 2.At the time of having every meal or tea or water wait for a minute and say Krishnarpanamastu. 3.Whenever you are free to listen to Music . Listen to Krishna Ganam and Thirumal geethangal songs. 4. Do all the above until there is a regularity you are able to achieve. Then slowly start wearing Srichoornam then observe people seeing you differently and overcome that. 5. Then start reading some " Sandhya Vandhanam " books published by LIFCO and do it twice a day ( week days) and three time weekends. 6.Then if you are " REGULAR " in all the above then start fasting on Ekadesi day . Fasting not to mean starving . Limit what you eat and drink plenty of water and have only fresh fruits and milk at night. 7. You will find immense pleasure and feel that you can fly your body when you achieve all the above. Then you can start learning Nalayiram Divya Prabhandam and also ask some one to teach you LIFCO Stotra Mala and then start chanting " Gayathri Mantra " or " Om Sri Venkateshwaraya Namaha " all the time. 8. Once you do ALL THE ABOVE you will know what you need to know. Last but not the least I am 35 years old and I have been doing this since the age of 20. I have a very happy life and I never bother or worry . I live in Moscow , Russia in -20 degrees and today it is almost -5 with snow but there is no problem. The snow is like parkadal. ALL THE BEST DEAR RAVI WELCOME TO NARAYANA CONSCIOUSNESS. ADIYEN KADATHUR KANDHADAI VARADACHARI SOWMYANARAYANA DASAN. --- Ravi Parthasarathy <meelaravi wrote: > Sirs, > > I am based at Chennai and till date I was never > serious either in the religion nor in its preaching, > except that when people ask me about religion, I say > I > am a vadagalai iyengar. > > Offlate, I feel that I should know more about the > background of our religion, its preachings, about > andavan etc. etc.., but now I am not sure how to > proceed and at times also think that it is too late. > > (I am 36 years old) > > I intend to learn the basics of our religion and > would > appreciate, if one of you could throw some light on > how to proceed. > > Kind regards, > > Ravi > > > > > > Get better spam protection with Mail. > http://antispam./tools > > Search - Find what you’re looking for faster http://search.
