Report on 16th Chaturmasya Sankalpam of Srimath Andavan Swamigal

This year the Sankalpam was held in the new Ashramam complex at a

place called Kapra, 15 KMs from Secuderabad,near Sainikpuri, on the

banks of a lake. Hyderabad Ashramam trustees deserve all praise from

the devotees for having given a new building for our Ashramam,in a

peaceful place with plenty of water,cool breeze etc., so that His

Holiness will enjoy His stay there, this time it is for 3 months.

 

On the morning of 2nd July, the programme started with the regular

Perumal and Paduka Aradanams, by His Holiness.This was followed by

regular sathumurai and theertha Prasadams.

After this the function of collecting earth,this is called

as " Mrithsankramanam " ,an important event of Chaturmasya sankalpam of

all Yatheeswaras,was performed.Sri Vaduvoor Srinivasa Desikacharaiar

Swamy,performed the role of Brihaspathi, as in the previous years.

Srikaryam Sri Narasimha Raghavachariar Swamy conducted the

proceedings.

The next event was " Thirumudi vilakkam " for H.H. on the banks of the

adjacent lake.Then the holy bath in the lake, followed by " Thiruman

Kaappu " .His Holiness was then taken in a procession with

Nathaswaram,Melam, back to Ashramam, where H.H.was received with

traditional honours.

In the intervening time ,at the Ashramam premises, discourses by

Srikaryam Swamy, Komandur Swamy and a few others were held for the

benefit of assembled devotees.

On assembly, honours from various Divya Desams were received by H.H.Then

National Committee Chairman Sri Eyetex Rajagopal made a speech,

highlighting the Ashramam's activities and the future plans. Hyderabad

Committee Chairman, Sri Saranyan, made a report on the new Ashramam

Complex and the activities in Hyderbad Ashramam.

Srikryam, spoke about the significance of Sankalpam.

Finally His Holiness delivered Anugraha Bhashanam.

 

ONE SALIENT POINT in His ANUGRAHA BHASHANAM

 

SRI RAMANUJA IS THE ONLY YATHI, WHO HAS SEEN 100 SANKALPAMS DURING hIS LIFE,

AFTER TAKING SANYASA ASRAMAM. hE LIVED FOR 120 YEARS, AFTER TAKING SANYASA AT AN

EARLY AGE OF 18.THAT IS WHY HE IS YATHIRAJA, MEANING KING OF ALL YATHEES.

 

Neary 250 devotees from various places assembled for the occasion.

One good thing which has happened to coincide the occasion was

that,Hyderabad did not have any rains for this season so far, but on the

previous night, prior to Sankalpam, there was a heavy downpour of

rain for 2 hours, which was a welcome sign.
