Guest guest
_/l\_ Namaskaram dear elders, I just want to know whether or not one can have the image of Lord Krishna with a flute in His hand at home. My grandma and mother tell that one SHOULD NOT keep any picture of Lord Krishna with a flute. How correct is it? Kindly help. Thank you. Guest guest
Dear Mr. Raghavan, When you think of Lord Krishna, you would almost always think of him with the flute. There is usually no picture (atleast as far as I have searched) of Lord Krishna without a flute. I was told by elders earlier that you should not have a picture of Lord Krishna "playing" the flute i.e., flute in his mouth as though he is playing. However, if he is having it in his hand or near his mouth seems to be fine. I am not knowledgeable enough to say why. But going by elders, I do not not have Lord Krishna "playing" his flute in my home. I hope this helps. sanjayitreez
Flute has got nine holes that is a resemblance of navadwara in a human body. Krishna being a Yogi this navadwara is under his elusive power so he can play with it. I got this knowledge from Acharyan Hari Swamikal from Kerala. So no problem in having Krishna picture with flute.
