Pralaya Varaha Moorthy of Kalhalli - Karnataka

srihi [srihi] Srihi Dear Srivaishnavas, http://www.pbase.com/svami/kalahalliPlease here in find attached pictures of a Gigantic Pralaya Varaha Moorthy, situated at Kalahalli in Krishnarajpet Taluk in Mandya District . The Pralaya Varaha is 21 feet tall and Bhoo Devi is seated in his left thigh. Thayar Bhoo Devi is 6 ft tall. A rare temple and it is around 1500 - 2000 years old. Moolamoorthy is Salagrama Shila and the moorthy has Sudharshana Chakra at back side (perumal's Back) . Aasthikas are planning for a Jeernottharanam shortly. The temple has three rivers flowing nearby and they are Hemavathi, Cauvery and Guptavahini. This temple is known Gauthama Kshetram and it seems that this Pralaya Varaha Moorthy was Samputa Moorthy ( Murthy worshipped daily and kept in Olai Petti) of Gauthama Rishi. Birth Star of Varaha Moorthy is Revathi .On June 30 2005 Masika Revathi they are planning to celebrate 1008 Kalasa Abhishekam, The programme of which, adiyen will let you all know shortly.If any one wants to visit this place, please plan to visit the Brindavan Garden also near this place.
