From Pongal Day onwards the Annadhanam is started at Sri Adhi Jaganatha Perumal Temple at Thiruppullani also. Since this is a small vllage with no proper hotel facilities, hundreds of pilgrims who dailythrong this temple were hitherto put to much hardship (ofcourse I am telling about the NBs only ) and this Annadhanam programme will definitely help those who come away from far and near. There is a sloka which is attributed to Rama havingsaid to Seetha on His way back to Ayodhya from Lanka:- " GAYAAYAAM EAKA LAKSHANTHU VAARANAASYAAM THVILAKSHAKAM ! PRAYAAKE SABTHA LAKSHANTHU SRI SETHOU GRAASA MAATHRATHA: " WHICH means that one handful of Annam given to one person at Thiruppullani-Sethukkarai will fetch you more 'palans' than feeding one lakh people at Gaya, two lakhs of people at Varanasi or seven lakhs of people at Prayagai. And it is another fact that when you feed people unknown that too when they are hungry and expecting, the Punyams will grow manyfold. Hence adiyen request you all to participate in this programme by contributing liberally, (amount is not the criterion but the willingness to partake is most important).
