Everywhere Gopala Kirshana's right thiruvadi will be in the front but here it is the left thiruvadi, which is in the front. It is the speciality.1002442Is Moolavar Thayar : Yadhava Nayaki.Prathistai by Yudhistra and Brighu Muni.Eventhough the Archaeological Survey of India has taken the upkeep of the temple, not much resource to do kainkaryam. The condition is slightly better than Nambhi Narayan Temple. Enough Lighting is there; The priest is surviving with Rs.50/- per month given byGovernment of Karnataka (Slightly better salary than Nambhi Narayan Temple). I appeal to all the Visitors to Melkote , to just drop in to this beautiful Place named Thondanur and see these three beautiful temple and also see the Lake built by Udayavar . Tipu Sultan Called this Lake as Moti Talab , it is said Tipu dropped his Pearl necklace in the middle of the lake while doing boating, then even thougth the pearl neclace was deep in the water he could see it through naked eyes through the crystal clear Water. Hence he called it Moti Talab. I spoke with Bhattar who is looking after this temple and also Yoganrusimha and Udayavar temple which is very close to this two temple and he informed that He needs Rs.250 /- per day to perform Pooja ,Naivedhyam and pushpa Kainkaryam for Lord. I am sure you all will come forward and do something for this temple. Our Bretherns living abroad can take up the Pooja for each month and get the Lords Blessings.
