Thiruppullaniyil 739th Thiunakshathrothsavam

The 739th Thirunakshathrothsavam of Swami Desikan was celebrated at

Thiruppullani Srirangam Srimad Andavan Ashramam Desikan Sannidhi as a

three days festival.

 

It started on October 1st the ThiruAvathara dhinam of

Thirukkudanthai Desikan, the Samprathaya pravarththakar. A special

alankara thirumanjanam was performed to Swami Desikan in the morning.

In the evening Sahasranama archchanai with the Desika Sahasranamam

composed by Thirukkudanthai Desikan was done.

 

The second day being Vijayadasami day, visesha thirumanjanam was

performed to Sri Lakshmi Hayyagriva Perumal after which He was adorned

with noothana Silver kreetam, angi and kavacham donated by Madurai Smt

Lakshmi Ammal. In the evening Sri Lakshmi Hayagriva Sahasranama

archchanai was performed.

 

On 3rd October, the day of Varshika Mahothsavam, after Thiruveethip

puRappadu, special alankara thirumanjanam was performed to Desikan. As

usual, full temple honours from Sri Adhi Jagannathap perumal Temple,

(Perumal, Thayar sudikkoduththa maalai, theerththam, perumal thayar

kaNdaruLiya thaLikai, parivattam) were brought by ALL the temple

kainkaryaparals and Swami Desikan was honoured with them. A speciality

this year. Normally these honours will be brought with the local

temple officer (Peshkar we call that post)

leading all kainkaryaparals. But this year, after a very long time,

say after nearly 45 years, the Diwan and Administrative Secretary,

Ramanathapuram Samasthanam Devasthanam who is the chief executive next

only to Sethupathi, was present all along the Uthsavam and appropriate

Mariyathai was given to him by the Asramam after SatrumuRai Ghoshti.

Another unexpected special this year is the Mariyathai to Swami

Desikan from Srivilliputhur Andal Rangamannar. Sri Srinivasa Bhattar,

a local temple archchakar, on knowing that the Swami Desikan vigraham

here was brought from Srivilliputhur long back, voluntarily arranged

for bringing Andal Mariyathai in a surprise manner.

Sri Vasan , GM, Canara Bank, who is very fond of this Kshethram and

Swami Desikan, despite his busy schedule attended and when he made the

Thirumanjana kattiya Vinnappam to Swami Desikan, almost everybody in

the Ghoshti were emotion packed with tears in their eyes.(Nekiznthu

On all the three days Nalayira, Desika Prabhantha, Desika Sthothra

Parayanam was done by M/S Radhakrishnan, Nathamuni and Govindarajan of

Srirangam and Devanathan of Maduranthakam.

 

A special mention must be made to Sri Sridharan of Maduranthakam

without whose sincere and praiseworthy kainkaryams the uthsavam would

not have been so grand. Sannidhi Aradhakar Balaji and assistant Balaji

took special care to carry out each and everything to the delight of

the devotees who gathered from far and near.

All the three days special thatheeyaaradhanam was done .
