Guest guest
Dear members, Srirangam Srimath Anadavan Ashramam web site www.andavan.org has now added a new page with thumb nail access on Swamy Desikan's Sri Paduka Sahasram. This contains the entire work of 1008 slokas with text in TAMIL, the meanings for each sloka and the commentary for each of them. They are based on our Poorvachariars' vyakyanams on the subject, but written for the easy understanding of loukikas, who do not find much time in going through elaborate commentaries appearing on the subject. The originator of this effort is Sri A.Lakshmi Narasimhachariar Swamy of Pon Vilaintha Kalathur. The entire DTP work in Tamil font was done by Srimathi Mythili Seshadri and ably supported by her Husband Sri N.K.Seshadri of IIT, Madras. They have done this as a service to all of us . The very first hard copy of this work was presented to Peria Perumal Thiruvadi on the day of Panguni Pushyam Celebrations of Centenary Thirunakshatram function and then presented to His Holiness Sri Rangaramanuja Mahadesikan, who blessed our effort with Manthradchadai on that day. With this background, we have inserted the entire work running to about 7MB in the Andavan Ashramam web site. Sri Lakshmi Narasimhachariar Swamy has a mission, just like Late Sri Seva Srinivasa Raghavacharaiar Swamy, in spreading Swamy Desikan's works. particularly Sri Paduka Sahasram to everyone interested. He is conducting classes based on this published text ,in different parts of Chennai. Presently the classes are being held at Sri Paduka Vihara Bhavanam at Anna Nagar, Chennai on week ends. Between 30 to 40 people are attending every session. We welcome if someone else want to make use of the published text to conduct classes in other parts of our country and also abroad. We were happy to hear from Sri Shyam Srinivasan, who expressed his desire on these lines in our initial stages of this project. Your comments are welcome Daasan, Srimath Andavan Thiruvadi, R.Srinivasan, Sri Paduka Vihara Bhavanam, Anna Nagar, Chennai TV dinner still cooling?Check out "Tonight's Picks" on TV. Guest guest
Adiyen dasasya vignapanam. I am extremely happy on this announcement. I was uploading daily one stanza from Sri Padhuka Sahasram with the commentaries of Srimad NammaNdavan and Sri Lakshmi Narasimhacharyar in my blog http://thiruppul.blogspot.com which I could not continue regularly due to various reasons. It was well received by many and whenever I failed to upload I used to receive mails from many to keep it up regularly. So this is really a very nice work by www.andavan.org which will benefit many. To make it more useful, the Sahasram audio may also be uploaded in streaming audio so that learners will have the opportunity to recite with correct sandhai also. adiyen, dasan,T.Raguveeradayal On 05 Apr 2007 03:42:47 -0700, Srinivasan Rangaswamy <r_sv wrote: Dear members, Srirangam Srimath Anadavan Ashramam web site www.andavan.org has now added a new page with thumb nail access on Swamy Desikan's Sri Paduka Sahasram. Guest guest
Dear Mr.Srinivasan, This is my first mail to this group. This is purely a suggestion, which might enhance the value of Andavan.org website. The Tamil copy that you have just published is in PDF format and also done in a proprietary font. It would be really useful, it is in Unicode Tamil. Unicode Tamil copy will render itself for search and all other reuse purposes. If you need any help in this regard, I will much happy to extend the same. regards Venkatesh R Email: rvrv30 On 05 Apr 2007 03:42:47 -0700, Srinivasan Rangaswamy <r_sv wrote: Dear members, Srirangam Srimath Anadavan Ashramam web site www.andavan.org has now added a new page with thumb nail access on Swamy Desikan's Sri Paduka Sahasram.
