Thanks to mr. kesavans invitation on the above subject. please clarify adiyans doubt. i am of the view that since we worship only shriman Narayanan and Thayyar and always under the protection and guidance of our Andvar Thiruvadhiee there is no need to worship anyother demigods or planets like sanneeswaran. i am also of the view that in our Vaishnava temples there are no navagrahams sannidi. in this case why we have to worhsip sanneeswaran. pleas forgive my ignorance and this queston if i am wrong. this question isput forward only out of ignorance and for clarification. orrgive me if adiyan has put a wrong question or wounded anybodys emotion adiyan srinivasan my email .. krishsriravi

Dear All,

 

As told by our acharya's in all their divine teachings, it is said not to go in for

devathantharam. We all say NaRayanan'ae namakke parai tharuvan,

then do we need to observe changes due to Sani Peyarchi. Does the same

to be done in our peruMal temple ?

Dear friends,

yes it is true that we vaishnavites are supposed to totally

surrender only to our Emperuman and to our Great

Acharyan.Still,when such poojas for Sani peyarchi etc are conducted,

we all tend to follow that line; I feel it is not that our Bakthi

or surrendering to our Perumal is deteriorating, but because of our

inate fear that if do not do this, we may have some problems.This

fear can also be interpreted as want of complete Bakthi to our

Perumal.

 

I would like to be enlightened on this aspect of oscillatioin between

total surrender and fear? At the same time, my absolute and total

surrender to our Great Acharyan need not be questioned.

Respected Srivashnava Bhagavathas, My humble opinion - when Lord Narayana is supreme in all respects why one should fear at all for lesser gods? Devathanthara sambanda is to be rooted out of our hearts at all costs. Mahavisvasa in Sriman Narayana and Acharya bhakthi will undoubtedly ward off all evils from those who have surrendered unto Lord Vishnu. Hence let us not entertain any fear because of Sani Peyarchi - If we have performed Bharanyasam at the lotus feet of our respective Acharyas, lesser gods dare not near us with any evil intentions! Let us be fearless and worship none but Sriman Narayana and our Great Acharyas! Srimathe Rangaramanuja Mahadesikaya Namaha

We need not fear about other demi gods when we have

full faith in our surrender to Sriman NARAYANA.Of

course,we need not show disrepect to other gods as

they also belong to our Master.At THE SAME TIME WE

SHOULD NOT SHOW UNDUE RESPECT TO THE RITES AND RITUALS

PERFORMED FOR THEM.It is better we donot get entangled

in those rites as our Master may not like it,when we

have sole faith in Him.It is also against the

scriptures which are to be respected.

Swami Desikan compares this it as follows;

It is a great disrespect to a King if his wife Rani

begs and gets treasure from his subjects.
