This is a real life event. " ___________ March 2005 Issue of Paduka HH offered M. at all the Sannathis in Sri Devanatha Perumal for with full Honours, camped in that Divya Desam for five days to take part in the Purattasi Sri Desika Utsavam and visited the grihams of many Sishyas for Ponnadi and Dolotsavam. The Teppotsavam at Thiruvahindrapuram!! A fascinating event occurred at Thiruvahindrapuram; an Asramam Sishya organises the Teppotsavam usually but this year the River Gadilam was bone dry without a drop of water to be seen anywhere for miles. HH gave the Utsavam Contractors an advance and asked them to get ready with the Teppam etc., The stunned Sevarthis & Sishyas pointed out to HH that the Utsavam was a non event as there was no water anywhere, with the most captivating smile HH agreed that there was no water but stood by His instructions, that night it rained & rained & rained & rained (like never before) for many hours, River Gadilam was in full spate the next morning, the Teppotsavam was now in doubt due to the flood waters (!) but eventually the Utsavam went through - another classic example of " Mazhai Saamiar " - HH had left for Pondicherry earlier & did not stay on to witness this magnificent/ omniscient event. Swami Desikan made emphasis to this in " Rahasyathraya Sara". Let us offer our " kruthagjatha"to Acharyan Water is most important to all jeevans,created by Sriman Narayanan. That too to brahmins and especially to vaishnavites. All vaideeka karmas depend on water( Theerththam--jalam--inwhatever name it may be called). Thrikala santhyavandanam after full bath, thiruvaradhanam to Bhagvan ( Vigraha, salagrama etc), thaligai as prasadam to Bhagavan --- for all these, water is important. When there is failure of monsoon rains, drought--famine spreads. This situation was prevelant even in previous yugas You all know the story of Sri Rishyasrunga. Where- ever he went, thundershowers followed. If a Rishi--Maharishi goes to an area affected by drought due to monsoon failure, rain will automatically follow the rishi There is a tamil poem to this Nallaar oruvar ularel , avar poruttu , ellarkkum peyyum mazhai ( If a noble man with good habits is there, it will rain there on his behalf) This is kaliyuga. In this yuga, it rains for the sake of Mahaans, Yatheesvarars, Acharyal Let us benefit; let us do kainkaryam to such of these acharyar; let us contribute for " Paduka Aradhana" and thadhiyaaraadhana" ( In the year 1954, there was failure of both the monsoon in our province and people migrated to far off places even for drinking water. Shri Rajaji took the Chief Ministership Of Madras province, and he went to Kancheepuram. Suddenly there was heavy down-pour in and around Kanchi and at that time Kalki Ra.
