Guest guest
Dear Swamin The following is the "SIGNIFICANCE OF UPAKARMA" WORSHIP OF LORD HAYAGREEVA Sri Hayagreeva is an incarnation of of Lord Vishnu, who is Gyana and Ananda personified, whose complexion is clear white and who is the root cause of all arts and sciences Brahma had lost His encyclopaedia , the Vedas, when He was in slumber and though the kalpa had started,He could not commence His assigned duty of creation. So He took to yoga concentrating on Sreeman Narayana, the originator, who, in Hayagreeva form, killed the demons Madhu and Kaitaba, who had stolen the Vedas from Brahma. Assuming the horse-headed form, He recited the entire Vedas for the benefit of Brahma to go on with His function of creation. This incident was narrated by Brahma Himself to sage Narada and is recorded in the BHagavatham. Lord Hayagreeva is VACHAM NIDHI, lord of all that could originate from the mouth, and the learned ones, like SRi Dakshinamoorthi, Brahma and His consort SAraswathi, VYasa. Parasara, Valmiki and so on owe their greatness to Him. He, who concentrates his mind on the Lord of Learning is bestowed with knowledge and it flows to him without any obstruction like the flow of Mother Ganga SOURCE OF ALL KNOWLEDGE: He is ever present with SAnka and CHakra in two of His hands, the third holding the book of knowledge and the fourth is an explanatory posture, ever ready to shower His grace. He is yogeswara as well as Vageeswara Sri Ramanuja acquired from Goddess Saraswathi at Srinagar, the Hayagreeva manthra alongwith an icon of Sri Hayagreeva and the Brahma sutras with annotations. SRi Desika in this line acquired them He performed Upasana of Hayagreeva manthra on a hillock on the banks of Garuda Nadhi, which empties itself into the ocean near Cuddalore and obtained perfection .
