U.Ve. Mahavidwan Villur Nadadur Sribhashyasimhasanathipathi Asukavi Sri.Karunakaran is well known to all of us. He is a top notch scholar of formidable reputation in Ubhaya Vedantham and Saasthra Granthams .

He is a nephew of the 43rd Pattam Srimath Azhagiya Singar ( DevanAr ViLAgam Azhagiya Singar) and the third son of Srimath Srinidhi Vaatsya SrinivAsa RaghavAcchAr Maha Desikan known also as Aaasu Kavi VillUr Swamy belonging to the illustrious Vamsam of Nadaadoor Azhwan .

Nadaadoor Azhwan himself is Bhagavath RaamAnujA's nephew and his direct disciple ; Azhwaan was given one of the 74 SrI BhAshya Simhaasanam by Bhagavath RaamAnuja in the year 1137 , when this great AchAryan was leaving this earth to serve Sriman Narayanan at SrI Vaikuntam .

The Nadaadoor Vamsam has thus direct links to our greatest AchAryaa , Bhagavath RaamAnuja and has many great VaishNavite AchAryAs in its Kulam . In this family was born another great AchAryan , Nadadoor AmmAl ( 1165-1275 C.E).AmmAL's KaalkshEpa GhOshti in the Western PrAkAram of Lord Varadaraajan of Kaanchi had Sudarsana Bhattar , who gave us Srutha PrakAsikaa . Swamy Desikan 's PrAchAryan (AchAryan's AchAryan) was Nadadoor AmmAL ,

Swamy Desikan protected Srutha PrakAsikaa during the tumultous times of Muslim invasion of SrI Rangam and took it with him to Satyagalam in Karnaataka . That scholarly commentary on SrI BhAshyam of Sudrsana Soori was used 30 times for KaalakshEpam by Swamy Desikan in his life time . Today 's Sri BhAshya KaalakshEpa Paramparai

We all owe immense debt to this lineage starting from Nadaadoor Vamsam . Sri U,Ve KaruNAkaran Swamy belongs to this sacred vamsam dear to SrI VaishNavAs . For the past four decades , Sri Villur KaruNAkaran Swamy has been holding aloft the vijaya dhvajam of Sri Nadadoor AmmaaL ThirumALigai following the foot steps of his gifted father /AchAryan .

Both Sri KaruNAkaran Swamy and his brothers were playmates of adiyEn at the village of DevanAr ViLaagam and Oppiliappan Sannidhi , when we grew up under the sacred Thiruvadi of Oppilaa Appan of ThiruviNNagara dhivya dEsam .

adiyEn is proud to know that Sri KaruNAkaran Swamy's Shashtiyabdha Poorthy will be celebrated in the most Vaidhic manner with Veda PaarAyaNam , Ubhya VedAntha upanyAsams and most importantly the release of a compilation of some of his scholarly works in Sanskrit , TamiL and English . SrI Nadadoor AmmAL Trust has formed a commitee of scholars to release these publications as KaruNaa TrivENi publications .

Just like the TrivENi sangamam at Allahabad , this confluence of the Sanskrit , Tamil and English essays will form the KaruNA TrivENi Sangamam , where we can dip in to enjoy the glorious AzhwAr/AchArya Sri Sookthis interpreted by Sri KaruNAkaran Swamy .

Swamin is a regular contributor of articles in Sri Ranganatha Paduka, Sri Nrismhapriya,Hayagrivapriya etc. For the past so many years he has been enriching us on Sri Bashyam, Geeta d byBashyam,Bhagavath Vishayam,Srimath Rahastrayasaram, SriPadhuka Saharam thro' his upanyasams.

On the occasion of the Swamin's Shatiabthapoorthi, on 30 Aug 2007,Sri Nadadur shishyas have planned topublish collected works of Sri.Karunakaran Swamin in three seperate volumes, one each in Sanskrit,Tamil and English.It is estimated to cost Rs.2 Lacs to publish Sanskrit and books.English book is fullly sponseredby a Hyderabad magazine. 'Karuna Triveni Committe' has been formed to collect donations.All are requsted to contribute for the sucess of this venture as these books will be of great knowledge source for the present and future generations.

Some of the compilation to be released by the Trust are AdhikaraNa Maadhavee ( 562 slOkaas on SrI BhAshyam in Sanskrit known as Ganga ) , ParamaikAnthi Svasty Vaachanam ( in TamiL known as Yamuna ) , Anecdotes on Sri VishNu Sahsara NaamAms ( in English known as Saraswati). These three Mahaa Nadhis will form the sangamam at Sri Ahobila Mutt . SelayUr in front of MalOlan and AchArya Saarvabhouman Prakrutham Srimath Azhagiya Singar .

The Shashtiyabdhi celebrations will start on Aug 26 and the book release is planned for 5.30 P.M onwards at SelayUr on Aug 29 . The MuhUrtham for the Shastiyabdhi is from 9.15 to 11.15 am and the TadhiyArAdhanam will take place at 11.45 AM that day.
