Dear all,

 

Could you please shed some light on how to have

control over mind.(manam oru kurangu enbathal)

 

Today is a fast moving age of work stress,personal

worries & commitments, changing life styles etc.

 

What slogas should one recite to keep away unnecessary

thoughts and be pure in thoughts and actions, get the

grit and determination to face problems,overcome

depression, anxiety and so on.

 

I hope this would be useful to all.

Dear Shri Veera Raghavan, I would suggest that, One should perform atleast Sandhya Vandanam on all three occasions in a day.-(This will take only 10-15 minutes for each occasion) Apart from this, I would also suggest you to visit our Ashram and get Ashirvadams from our HH Andavan Swamigal. Also, you can recite the slokas like, Ashtha Lakshmi Stotram, Ranganathashtakam, Purusha Suktam, Shri Suktam, Sudarshnashtakam, etc... which will make themind peaceful. Asmad Gurubhya namah

 

I'm too young to say. But i want to share some of my

things which i heard and practise

 

1. While getting up from bed , we need to think of our

parents and our acharya. This will make ushappy

through out the day.

 

2. Whatever we do we need to think its because of

acharya's anugraham that we were able to do. We are

just a tool and he's the energy (Acharya First and

next the God).

 

3. Acharyan Thaniyan needs to be recited whenver we

have time.

 

4. Swami desikan's Nyasadashakam - Acharya anugrapham,

abhiitistvam - will get you more courage to face any

sort of problems, Dasavathara Sthotram and sudharsana

astakam

 

And.... anustanam (sincerely) will get us more result.

 

I personally feel Item 3 alone (with dedication) fetch

us a good result.

 

Please forgive me if i have said/communicated any

thing wrong

Dear Swamin,

 

What I try to practice to get peaceful mind is

list various activities if done by me to others in the

family / friends / relative circle would make them happy

and just doing it. Or by just calling them and wishing them good day.

 

Many times we get depressed by listing what others have not done to us.

By doidng reverse process, that is if i do what will make others happy,

we will be the first person to become happy.

 

This is only supplement to what has been told by Sri Ranganatha Iyengar

and not a substitute.

Adien, Is it possible for you to send the Acharyan Thaniyan in the email as an attachment, it is ok even if it is English, Tamil or in Sanskrit. We prostrate at the holy feet of Sri Ranga
