Guest guest
We deeply regret to announce the news which I just received from Ashramam, that our respected Srikaryam Swamy, Sri Narasimha Raghavachariar, attained Acharyan Tiruvadi around 11 30 this morning. He had a set back in health some days back, just prior to sathabishekam function announced on 27th September, which itself could not be held, due to his hospitalisation on that day. With his passing away, our Ashramam has lost a great scholar, who has been entrusted by H.H. the responsibility of bringing back into print various rare granthams of our Srivaishnavaite sampradaya. For the benefit of loukikas , he took the initiative to bring out the beautiful Ashramam Panchangam , as a ready reckoner for all of us. Let us all join and convey our condolences to his family members in this hour of grief and pray for his soul to rest in peace Daasan, R.Srinivasan Catch up on fall's hot new shows on TV. Guest guest
This is shocking. The loss is ir-reparable. Srikaryam Swamin's devotion to Srimad Andavan, is a model for shisyas like us. Regardless of the time of day, Srikaryam Swamin was so ready to be at service to HH. His recent Sandhyavandhanam book / cd is a materpeice Adiyen had the bhagyam of seeking his blessings over phone just a few weeks ago. He sounded to be in good health at that time. This is shock. Our condolences. Guest guest
Haribol ! It is with a sense of shock , we read this news. Adiyen and my wife had the honour and previlege of hearing Swami's lectures and upanyasams in Sri. Raghavan's place in T.Nagar and we always relished his presentations and the diction. His contribution to the Srivaishnava Community has gone into the great books as his personal contribution to his acharyan. We can only pray Sriman Narayanan to bless this departed soul and keep it rest in peace in Nithya Vibhuthi along with other acharyans. Our heart felt condolences to the berieved family. Guest guest
In the passing away of Srikaryam swami we have lost a great scholar whose contribution to our sampradaya grantha is immeasurable. The loss to the Ashramam and ashramam shishyas are irrepairable. While we cannot take this loss on our stride we pray Lord Rangantha and Periya Piratti to give mental strength to the immediate family members at this event and our prayers for the departed soul to rest in peace. Guest guest
Dear All, This is a great loss to the entire SriVaishnavaite community; the Swamin was an erudite Scholar in four languages, Hindi was his first forte having passed the Parangat exam and worked as a Hindi Pandit for several years, thereafter shifting as a Sanskrit Scholar after the Hindi Agitation in mid sixties. Sanskirt/Tamil were his strong points in any case. the first student of the Ahobila Mutt Sanskrit College, Maduranthakam {as per their Golden Jubilee Souvenir!}, training and kalakshepams first under his revered father to become an undisputed authority in Srimad Ramayanam. I don't know how he became so fluent in English but a London Trained Barrister would struggle to match the Swami's fluency and accent. He had some grievances about minor and mostly perceived slights during his tenure as Srikaryam since 1999 but his devotion to HH was unparalleled, his services in getting the Granthams out on time were largely the reason why the Asramam was able to bring out so many rarest of rare granthams during the past 8+ years. HH honoured him in 2003, that could be thought of honouring one's own but HH Sri Ranga Priya Maha Desikan honoured him with a title 'Panditha Rajah' along with Dr NSRamanuja Thathachariar {arguably the greatest SriVaishnavaite Scholar according to HH} in Feb 2007 on the occasion of the Acharya's Sathabhishekam. Sriman Narayana has called unto himself a great soul and scholar - after such repeated bouts of ilnesses, the end was expected but when the moment came, he went just like that. This is a great loss not just to the Asramam but to the entire community. Now who will write and complete the treatise of Sri Bashyakarar's 'Sri Vedartha Sangraham' in Sri Ranganatha Paduka? Adiyen will always remember the Swami's boundless energy during the Centenary celebrations of HH Srimad Thirukkudanthai Andavan in Srirangam, Malai Maryadhais form 90 Divya Kshetrams were most reverently handled by him and no one who saw that would have realised that this person was then 79 years young! He has returned to his abode near Sriman Narayana to reside there as a Nithya Soori for ever. Let us NOT grieve too much but feel satisfied with our association with a great person and a great Scholar.
