Guest guest Posted November 10, 2007 Report Share Posted November 10, 2007 Dear group members, Srimath Andavan made "Mangalasasanam of Sri Venkatavaradarajaswamy Sannathi at Paruththipattu, near Avadi,Chennai.A large gathering of residents of Paruththippattu Agraharam received his Holiness with traditional honours.Besides main Sannathi,mangalasasanams of Sri Perundevi Thayar,Chakraththazhwar and Acharyas were also performed.After this H.H. spent some time in admiring the art work of various Vaahanams being made at that village by a Sthapathi. totally 10 new vahanams were being made for the Perumal temple in Perungalaththur,near Chennai.H.H. made some useful suggestions to the Sthapathi, in His own style, about the right type of wood etc. Major wood carvings are to be "Aththi maram" and smaller carvings can be of "punga Maram". Tha same Sthapathi team is making a new Chariot ("Ther") for Sri Veeraraghavaswamy temple in Tiruvellore.It is said that 6th Pattam Azhagiasingar Jeer Swamy hails from this place. His Holiness is camping here for a day. Tomorrow, 11th Nov. morning, there will be Perumal and Paduka Aradanams at that place. H.H. will be returning to Chennai Ashramam tomorrow evening itself.
