Guest guest
Dear Desika Bhakthas, Sri Rangarajan of Bangalore who visited Thiruppullani recently presented me a book on "PadhukaSahasram". A Translation in Tamil, it is a very great work by the author Sri Athur Veeravalli Santhanam Iyengar (who was nearly a blind and deaf person as he himself says in the preface) who was Akkur Andavan Thiruvadi. The "Thiruppadhukamaalai" of Sri Kesava Iyengar is of a very high style which scholors only can greatly enjoy. But these veNbas of Sri Santhanam Iyengar can be enjoyed by one and all. Of course to bring the essence of Sahasram in veNba requires very great talent and this author excels in it. Added to that he has written very simple commentary also for each verse. In the preface, the author says that Kavi yoki Suddhaanantha Bharathiyar asked him to do this work. The book is avai lable with SRI BHAGAVAN NAMA PUBLICATIONS, "RAMA MANDIRAM", 2, VINAYAKAM STREET, WEST MAMBALAM, CHENNAI -60033 and priced at Rs. 60/ A sample of the veNba and commentary is available at my blog http://thiruppul.blogspot.comdasan,T.Raguveeradayal Posted through Grouply, the better way to access your like this one. Guest guest
Dear Padhukasahasram lovers, A few days back adiyen troubled you all by directly posting the Tamil version of Sri Padhukasahasram in which due to font problems nobody was able to read and enjoy. Now adiyen has posted the first three paththathis translated by Sri Santhanam swami as a .pdf file in http://thiruppul.blogspot.com You can download the same from that link. Adiyen will alternatively post "Thiruppadhukamaalai" of Sri Kesava Iyengar and Padhuka Sahasram of Sri Santhanam Iyengar in that blog at regular intervals. Those interested in reading the print version of Sri Santhanam Iyengar can have it from "Sri Bhagavan Nama Publications, 'Sri Rama Manthiram', 2, Vinayakam Street, West Mambalam, Chennai. Sri Santhanam Iyengar has provided brief meanings also. As far as that of Sri Kesava Iyengar's , we have to wait till Sri Parasaran Swami ,who republished and released the book thro' the Lotus hands of HH Srimad Andavan at Thiruppullani in 2003,releases enough copies. dasan,T.Raguveeradayal
