Guest guest
Dear madam, Besides the replies which were already received on this subject,I would like to add a few more avenues. Madras University is having a degree as well as post graduate course in Srivaishnavism. They have both direct as well as correspondence courses. You may contact the University. There is another Institution in Chennai, called Sri Malola Vagheesa Vani. This is in T.Nagar. They also conduct certificate courses in Srivaishnavism. They also conduct correspondence course also. Guest guest
Om Namo Bhagavathe Vasudevaya|| Hi Vidya, Before jumping into ocean of practices and knowledge about SriVaishnavism, Sriman Narayana and Thayaar Mahalakshmi I would suggest to do the following if you are new starter which is essence and most forgetted about Vaishnavism (I am not targetting anyone here): 1) First and foremost thing is to surrender to lotus feet of Sriman Narayana and MahaLakshmi. There are lot of prapathis, sharanagathi gadyams which can help you with this from the links our great knowledgeable people have given you. More than anything is parama bhakthi which takes precedence over everything. It has to come from within heart and stay forever and keep increasing. 2) Start listening to guna-lila-namams of god, start upholding the glory of lord (never put down your god in front of anyone or change your views about god, when someone comes to teach you pashanda maargam), put your background mind 24hrs in thought of lord(his nama-rupa smarane should go in your mind and heart all the time), do his charana sevai, do puja-archana of god, do namaskaram in front of god (Bow your head to his holy feet always), become his dasi, friend, and do complete atma samarpanam to him....If you do this he himself will always show you the right path...All these above nine principles automatically improves bhakthi. Without having ananya bhakthi, learning 1000's of literature is of no use. 3) See god as atman in everyone, every animal you see. So have daya and sneham to everyone. So any material which helps you in doing atmasamarpanam to lord is the best of best texts. You can get immense knowledge by getting under acharya but before going to acharya according to me we should first get good control over our senses and get into some kind of discipline. There is lot of difference between 1) just learning about Sri Vaishnavism and 2)doing atma samarpanam to lord and acharya and then learning from acharyas and pakthadis about god. Jai Sri Krishna.
