The best age to learnis around six to ten and it is best learnt also in ghoshti. Once youlearn it while being young and keep chanting it regularly, it becomes apart of you and you begin to feel it as you get older. If properlyrecited,

it is like chanting the vedas indeed. Then comes the enjoymentof chanting it with others in a ghoshti. Many of us know this and Isuggest knowledgeable elders should form small groups of youngsters andteach them how to recite sahasranama properly. I learnt it that way inSrirangam when I was 12 and my experience is that constant recitationadds powers of foresight, besides spirituality..
