With growing trend of moving far and wide in search of livelihood, the Srivaishnava population at any given place is dwindling. It is A Gift of Our Lord Sri Krishna that we are able to be in touch and keep communicating thro the internet facilities. In order to preserve our identity and promote Srivaishnavam for the posterity to inherit this Great Treasure, THE NEED OF THE HOUR is our UNITY. So long as we live, there is bound to be differences in our views, approach, understanding and affinity. But we are all like the beeds in a Mala, with Our Lord as The Thread, as He Himself has declared in BG. No harm in keeping our identities and ideaologies to follow what one feels as right, but the love, concern and respect for fellow beings should always be held high. As is our trait and tradition, let, we the Sri Vaishnavas, be together as ONE, in praying Our Lord for the welfare of all Srivaishnavas in particular and every soul in general. Let our Lord Lead us to The Light of Knowldge of Truth which in essence should be Pure Love and Kindness towards all , specially the suffering people. SO - while a SriVaishnavaite Society based on Unity as the underlying Concept is to be aimed for - the practical solution is to contain the differences that have always existed for many centuries. We, at Srirangam Srimad Andavan Asramam, are looking at & are working for Unity in Diversity. A starting point is to support the SriVaishnavaite Divya Desams that are in dire need of support in the " Secularist " environments. HH has Blessed - this week - a project to support the most needy Temples W/O differentiating between Thenkalai & Vadakalai temples. The plan, as conceived by HH Srimad Andavan, is to offer them the following: Gingelly Oil for Lamps in the Sannathis, ONE Measure of Rice - Thaligai - minimum per day, Rs. 1000.00 honorarium EACH to the Bhattar & the Thaligai Kainkaryam {Cook}, This is expected to cost Rs. 4000 per month per Divya Desam, This will be a purely Voluntary effort routed through Srirangam Srimad Andavan Asramam, The Asramam has HQrs in Sriranagm & centers in Chennai, Kumbakonam, Oppiliappan Koil etc., So, the monthly distribution to Temples selected for this assistance will be professionally monitored based strict observance by the Bhattar & the Thaligai Kainkaryam {Cook} concerned. Means that we have the manpower to organise & administer this rather difficult issue. If funds are received generously from Sevarthis, then the more & more Temples will be covered under this scheme. We seek the maximum support from one & all.
