Many are interested in knowing the main Teachings -Siddhaantha - of Swami Ramanuja in a nut shell. The following will summarise the same and it will be very easy to tell others , especially children, who enquire us about the uniqueness & the basics of Visistaadvaitha Principle established by Sri Ramanuja. ***************** The matter (Achit), the soul (chit) and Isvara (Paramaatma) called Thathva Thraya ( The three Thathvaas ) are real. The Achit and the Chit, i.e matter & the soul, are the Body (Sareera) to The Lord ParamAtmA , Sriman Narayana. Narayana is Everything in The Brahmaanda (Universe) and everything is in Him and He is in everything. Brahmam is One and It is Sriman Narayana. He has Definite Form and All Kalyana GunAs. He is The Sole & Supreme Creator, Protector and Anhilator Lord Sriman Narayana is the embodiment of Sathyam (Truth) , Gnanam (Knowledge) and Anantham (Eternity). He is present in everything as Antharyaami , ie the the Inner Self of Chit as well as Achit. Lord Sriman Narayana is the Absolute and only Master, Controller and Supporter of The Whole Universe and He is Totally Independant ( Swathanthra). Though Bhakthi and other ways of reaching Him are there, SaranAgathi ( Total Surrender ) is the best means of to reach Him and Lord Sriman Narayana accepts Absolute Surrender through AchAryA of any soul. Every one must perform the duties as assigned by Dharma Saastraas like The Daily & Distinct Karmas and other obligatory and occasional actions as per their Varnaasrama.They have to be performed, but should be done as an offering to Sriman Narayana, and without any expectation in return. The teaching "Thathvamasi" and such other dictums equating the souls to The Paramaathma are not tenable. ************************ The above is written with an interest that it may be of use to many who are desious knowing The Teachings of Swami Ramanuja .
