Dear Swamin,

Adiyen parthasarathi, wants to clarify a doubt - in u.ve.velukudi's

kannan in aramudh chapter 13 in geetha and 29 sloka in that he

described "the aathma and the body, if a human dies the aathma will go

out and their will be no relation of pava and puniyam's to the aathma"

My doubt is if their is no relation of pava and puniyam's to the

aathma why it is not attaining Lotus feet of Lord Narayana?, at the

same time if the aathma is free and body is so also buried or burnt,

suppose the person has done lot of pavam where does he/she experience

the punishment and how he/she will be sent to narakam?.

Swamin,

My understanding on this issue is this:

A Baddha Jeeva atma has not only sharira which is sthula rupa, but also sukshma

and karana dehas. At the time of death, atma gets rid of only the sthula

swarupa, but not the sukshma and karana dehas.

It is with these sukshma and karana dehas, that an atma suffers in hell or

enjoys in heaven and depending upon praraabdha gets reborn. The story of shiva

(mahabharata) destroying the tripuras can be interpreted as destroying these

three cities and freeding the atma. If one were to recall the story, OM was the

tip of the arrow, Mahameru was the bow. The symbolism involved in that story is

complex.

When a Jeev atman attains moksha all the three bodies are destroyed and there is

no more unless it is will of paramatman.
