Guest guest
Dear all, adiyen dasasya vignaapanam. Adiyen need an advice from technically talented members of this group. Delhi Anbil Srinivasan swami has sent 100 plus very old books to me. One book has been printed in 1898 and it is a vyakyanam on selected works from Azhwar Aruli cheyal and it contains English commentaries also. While the Tamil commentary has many Grantha lipi text, kannadam is widely used within the English commentary. This Tamil only knowing pamaran is unable to comment anything on this book but hope that since it dates back to 1898 it may throw some fresh light. And hence my desire to place it on the web.   But the pages of the book are purpled and so brittle that one needs to turn the page with very great care (like that of a surgeon doing a very complicated operation ) And as such the pages can not be scanned. On an earlier occasion I lost few pages of another book as these purpled brittle pages do not withstand the heat of scanning machine. What can I do? I have attached a few images from the book taken with my camera. Guest guest
dasan. Thanks for your kind advice. A friend of mine here has taken the responsibility and scans in the usual way but with utmost care and total dedication. So far nothing that I afraid of happened. Nearly 50% work is over and perhaps tomorrow it will be ready. I shall inform you the result. You may be remembering discussions on starting a TV channel. Eventhough I am in the opposition bench, I suggested two sites and asked members to verify. Both of them are freeware. Nobody responded. Adiyen and Vaideekam group moderator Srinivasan tested them. But we were told that we have not enough material to be permitted to run the channel. I request you to try as you have volumes of videos.  www.livestream.comwww.qit.com Please inform me if you succeed.Adiyen,Dasan,Thiruppathi Raguveeradayal C/O SRIRANGAM SRIMAD ANDAVAN ASHRAMAM,THIRUPPULLANI 62353204567-254242//919443301091http://thiruppul.blogspot.comhttp://rajamragu.spaces.live.com'>http://thiruppul.blogspot.comhttp://rajamragu.spaces.live.com On Wed, Jul 8, 2009 at 02:44, raghavan veera <raghavanvee wrote: Dear Swamin, Photo images is a good alternate but require editing for contrast and very time consuming. It just occurred to me that you may again try scanning as output is faster. Guest guest
Dear Sri.Raghuveeradayal swamin,I remember i ave seen the site 'Live Stream ' earlier once.Again i had a look at it today. This site may be useful but the patronage is the problem. Also they will not stream smoothly in countries like India, where internet connection speed is low and they are also shared connection type ,common man uses.I have built You tube channel over two years now and my contacts know it firmly by now. Also the average hits is around 300 and popular one like " Asrama sweekaram " crosses 1000.If i start Live stream, i am not confidant that many will surf an additional input from me.What is being shown on Live stream is mostly News based.I am already quit far behind in uploading in You tube, as some collections are to be processed.I also upload a Video and wait for a while till few people see it and then only upload the next one.To see a ten minute Video in You tube, many people need one hour of Internet use. They have to stream in interrupted condition first fully, and then use " Replay " option for smooth play.Regarding the second site proposed,' qit ' ,i find it is not meant for my type of use, not a video site also.It is also strange that many are not uploading regularly our sampradaya vishayam. We are only a handful of persons.I see during utsavams / Acharyan function may take Videos / Photos ,majority of them do not upload.Availability of free time could be a constraint. Some negative thoughts so far but i am must also share with you that large number youngsters are are watching my videos/ photos / listen to Upanyasams . and are in my mailing list.It is a positive sign for Srivaishnavas.Regards, Veeraraghavan On 7/7/09, T.Raguveeradayal <rajamragu wrote: dasan.
