Kanchipuram Sri Devathi Raja Perumal - Veda Parayanam

Dear Sevarthis,

 

Shri RS has posted the images of Pavithrotsavam with the Veda Parayanam on this site. It is a soul filling sight no doubt.

 

Adiyen submits that Veda Parayanam is a 24x7 OR a 12x22/23 day affair {excepting the Anadhyayanam days} at Kanchi Sri Devathi Rajan Thiruvadi.

This is a hoary tradition that goes on & on. 30 - 40 Adhikaris {Parayanadhars} participate.

The Schedule - Excepting AnAdhyayanam Days {8 days/month}, there is Veedhi Purappaadu daily and they completely recite KramAntham 3 times in a year {3 Aavarthies},

Nithya {Daily} Parayanams at Swami Desikan  & Sri Charathaazhwar Sannathis - Acheethi/Dwayam - 3 Aavarthees per year,

Then again during Brahmotsavam & other Utsavams, Saptha Kaanda Parayanam takes place.

This is a signal service by these Parayanadhars.

Till very recently, this was a labour of love.

Till a gent & an old friend {whose name adiyen cannot divulge without his permission} is contributing Rs. 1.00 lakh per month.

Other Swamis & Maamis contribute their mite and the Parayanadhars get a stipend of approx. Rs. 7,000 per month - a very small price to pay.

This is a Brahmanubhavam - all sevarthis should positively visit Sri Devarajan Sannathi & experience this at least once every quarter if not more frequently!!

Apart from this, voluntary & spontaneous contirbutions are also welcome.
