Guest guest
SRIMATHE RANGA RAMANJA MAHA DESIKAYA NAMAHA Adiyen DasasyaVigyabanam. I request somebody to clarify the followingdoubts. 1.My father, grandfather, and great grand fathers were used to apply red srichoornam along with thiruman in their forehead. Iwas also practicing the same till 1996. From the year 1996 onwards I am started using Yellow srichoornam along with thiruman. somebody told me that I h ave to follow the family tradition and not to deviate . Please clarify whethe I can apply yellow srichoornam along with thiruman or I have to follow the family tradition. 2.Iam daily doing Perumal Thiruvaradhanam. After performing thirmanjanam to the Saligramams I used to wipe with a white pillaiyar veshti exclusively kept for perumal purposes and daily wash the same. Now elders in my family told me that I hace to use PATTU VASTHRAM for wiping the perumal after thirumanjanam. My question is whether I can daily wash the pattu vasthram after the use and make it ready for the next day use. DASAN S.SRIDHARAN Love Cricket? Guest guest
Forgot to mention in my previous post…. Lalitha Sahasranaam goes like this…. Sakunkuma Vilepanam Manika chumbi kasthuurikaam… -----Original Message----- K Rajesh (kc2kby) [kc2kby] Friday, September 18, 2009 8:12 PM andavan RE: religiousclarifications requested SRimathE rangarAmAnuja maHAdEsikAya nama: I am telling what comes to my mind….. please excuse me if I sound like adhihaprasangi. First of all, when our Acharyan Srimath Andavan performed panchasamskaaram for me, he did it with yellow choornam only. Since then I have worn yellow srichoornam. No doubts whatsoever. Secondly, Srisuktham begins like – Hiranya Varnaam Harineem, suvarna rajathasrajaam… this means that Goddess Mahalakshmi has body color of yellow or golden. It is good to wear that color. Red is a color liked by Ambaal (Lalithambika) Her body is Red in color. Rather than elaborate and misquote Acharyan, adiyen suggests that it is better for individuals to seek their own Samasrayana Acharyan's instructions -directly- (in person) rather than relying on the internet or intermediaries. vachika doshaha kshantavyaha ramanuja dasan. Guest guest
dAsanEkanti is a person who worships ONLY Lord Sriman Narayana and may ask the lord to bless him with pleasures(worldly mostly) ....Paramaikanti is a person who asks the Lord nothing other than mOksha... Actually the term Ekanti is used to refer to advaitIs. But when speaking with relevance to srivaishnavites the term Ekanti gives the above meaning...If adiyEn has said anything wrong periyaval please forgive and correct me.adiyEn dasankrr.kash <krr.kashandavan Sent: Friday, September 18, 2009 5:12:42 PMRe: religiousclarifications requested ADIYEN DASANWHAT IS THE MEANING OF EKANTI AND PARAMAIKANTI?KASTURIRANGAN. Guest guest
Sri: Srimathe Ramanujaya Namaha Dear Swami, Ekanti - One who accepts Sriman Narayana as the supreme lord and firmly believes in attaining his supreme abode (sri vaikuntam) thro Karma/Gnana & Bhakti Yoga. For him Upeyam is Bhagavan and Upayam is the margam specified above. Parama Ekanti - One who accepts Sriman Narayana as the supreme lord and firmly believes in attaining his supreme abode (sri vaikuntam) thro HIM only (Saranagathan). Upayam and Upeyam are bhagavan ONLY. Implies that he relinquish his Ahankara & Mamakara completely. Applying of Srichurnam is not related to this. Let's look at some background: Sri Vaishnavas either wear a red or yellow SrIchUrNam. Both of them are made primarily of turmeric (manjaL / haridra / haldi), which, when unprocessed is yellow. However, the yellow variety of SrIchUrNam is not mere turmeric powder; it goes through a process and only then is fit to be applied on the forehead. The red variety is turmeric mixed with lime, and also processed in a particular way. The combination of turmeric mixed with lime yields the reddish-orangish color. Since the SrIchUrNam represents the presence of Lakshmi, some cites pramanam from shastras that Lakshmi is of golden color so the SrIchUrNam should be yellow. Those on the other side quote different pramanam for SrIchUrNam to be red as per shastras saying Lakshmi is signified by the red color. It's different pramanam giving rise to different colours. Best option for you is to follow Shistacharam of your ancestors or to consult with Asmad Acharyan.
