Invitation for Thirunakshtram of Swami Desikan at Sathyagalam 2009

Respected Bhagavathas,

 

Today is the Thirunakshtram of Swami Desikan.

 

On this occasion I want to invite you all to Sathyagalam a place very dear to

our Acharya Sarva Bhouma Swami Vedantha Desikan.He lived here for 12 long years

during the turbulent period in Srirangam and other places. It is our Mel Nadu

which beckoned the acharya . Following the course of river Cauvery he reached a

beautiful place known as Sathyagalam near Madhyarangam also then known as Sri

Vana Samudhram and now it is corrupted as Shivanasamudhram. I presume our

Acharya did not miss his favorite deities because in Sathyagalam he had the

Darshan of Lord Vardhan ( Kote Varadharaja Swami), His consort Peru Devi Thayar

( Also known as Varadha Vallabha Thayar) Lakshminarasimhan. Then in Madhyarangam

he had the Darshan of Jagan Mohana Ranga ( Lord Ranganatha a lovely cute

moorthy) . I also presume Swami composed this sloka on Madhya Ranga Perumal

only.

 

kAnthodArairayamiha bhujai: kankaNajyAkiNAnkai:

akshmIdhAmna: prthuLaparighair lakshitAbhIti hethi:

agre kinchit bhujagasayana: sAtmanaivAtmana: san

madhye rangam mama cha hrdaye vartate sAvarodha:

Sathyagalam is my Adopted Village. I am sure in coming days I will be settling

in Sathyagalam away from the noisy Bengaluru in the serine atmosphere .And GOD

willing i will continue my continue my service to the society from there.
