The 640th Thiruvavathara dhinam of Sri Manavala mamuni was celeberated as usual at Thiruppullani, with special thirumanjanam to Mamunikal, mangalasasanam at all the sannadhis at Sri Adhi Jagannaatha Perumal temple and thiruveethi purappadu. Even some 20 years back, it was a 10 days festival and on the day of Thiruvavatharam devotees in large number from far and near used to be present and there will be a minimum of two panthis of Thatheeyaaraadhanam on the big corridors of the temple. But those are days gone by which will never come back. And so we have to be satisfied with just a few hours celeberation.

 

A small book "Manavala maamuni nootrandhathi" written by Sri Muthuswamy Iyengar, father of the great scholar Mu.Raghava Iyengar, was released on that occasion by Sri S.Thirumalai Sadagopa Iyengar, a senior lawyer and Sri Vanamamalai power agent at Ramanathapuram, released the book and it was freely distributed to the sevarthis.
