HH Srimad Andavan has contributed a sum of Rs. 1.00 lakh to an Old Age Home in Salem. Excepting HH's close circle travelling with Him in the retinue, this news was NOT known to even adiyen.

This news was picked up by TAMBRAS House magazine & adiyen then requested the Paduka Editor to repeat that news item in our house journal.

Our Mutts ,AchAryAs and many Kind Hearted Peope have been rendering great services in protecting, preserving and promoting our treasure of The Great SampradAyam, Culture and Traditions.

Besides they have also put up Schools, Colleges, Kalyana Mandapams, places for stay in Divya Desams and for Pithru Karyams in many cities etc which are solid contributions for the welfare of our people.

But not much has been done to the Senior Citizens, who are facing great hardships due to lack of phisycal, financial and emotional support which really is the greatest need for elders.

The present day life style is changing very fast, whether we like it or not. The living conditions of elders, whose population is exploding, is becoming more and more tough and pathetic. Seniors who have been so much tied to our way of living, are finding themselves as fish out of water. Espcially those who are forced to live in adverse circumstances and who are living without physical support, are totaly frustrated, as they can neither live as they are made to or change themslves to the pressing conditions, which are unacceptable to them.

We find our Mutts and Sincere SishyAs are doing great Services in renovating needy Temples,Celebrating various auspicious days like Thiru Nakshatrams etc at enormous, adding unimaginably priced jewelleries to The Dieties etc.Sincerely Our Lord does not need such costly items to adore Him, as He Himself is The Greatest of Gems. It will be an unparalelled Service. if they can come forward to put up Old Age Homes, where our way of life is ensured, so that our elders can lead their lives as they are accustomed to , in the evening of their lives For Great Institutions , it should not be a difficult task to promote such ldeal Old Age Homes and take care of the elders to live in peace, practicing their day to day activities. Influential people, who certainly will be aware of the precarious conditions of elders living in the present day, can & must take up this Service with the help of all those who are interested in this very needy and essential service. This will also promote a sense of awareness among the younsters to come forward to take part in such noble endeavours, not only in the interest of our elders but also in their own interest, as time will fly & they themselves will be Senior Citizens soon. There are many Old Age Homes, run commercially as also on humanitarian grounds, but the conditions like food, environment etc therein does not suit our elders . We pray for this Service from those who sympathise with our elders, esp The Mutts & Ashrams , whose ordained duty is to take care of our elders , who have done so much to Mutts & Ashram when they were young. This wil also help passing on the traditional knowledge to the youngsters by The Old Age People who are housed in such old age homes run by Mutts & Ashrams.Veda Patasalaas can be orgaised in such Homes for the benefit of coming generations.
