Guest guest
adiyen dasasya vignaapanam. Most probably due to surge in voltage, my system crashed today and the service engineer reports that the hard disk can not be repaired. Hence adiyen is replacing with anew hard disk which necessitates me to rebuild every thing right from the start. All the applications installed in the system during all these five years have be searched again on the net and to be reinstalled which may need a week's time. Hence there will be a short break in updating my blogs. This mail itself is routed from the machine of Ashraam manager Sri Sridhar. If at all adiyen fail to reply any personal mail immediately, adiyen may kindly be excused. Guest guest
Srimathe Rangaramanuja Mahadesikaya Namaha Hi buddy, Backup is the key. "Prevention is better than cure" Please buy a portable hard disk or Seagate Freeagent external 1 TB which costs around Rs. 4800. 5 years limited waranty. They wont replace if you drop it or for power surge, only manufacturing defects will be borne and HDD will be replaced. Data recovery is not guranteed by them. Try this: https://bwindia.net/content/hdd-ext-seagate-usb-1-tb-35-inch Places like eZone sells this for Rs 6999. Just today I enquired The reviews about this shop in the internet is good. The best way is to opt for Network hard disk but cost will be the criteria. There is another option Transcend StoreJet Shock proof hard disk which is tested in US Military standards to protect from accidental fall and HDD shocks. Hope u recover all data instead of downloading them from internet. Any comments? Guest guest
adiyen dasasya vignaapanam. Thanks for your kind guidance. Already adiyen is having a portable hard drive where the dedicated backup application has stored almost all the data. But certain applications which adiyen was using were downloaded from the net and to reinstall them adiyen have to download them afresh. The faulty HDD has been replaced with a 500gb hdd and adiyen may be continuing blogging etc from tomorrow onwards. Thank you for your concern. 1TB hdd is available at Ramanathapuram itself for the same amount. Guest guest
My two cents….. In these days of power surges, it is better to copy the image of the hard drive to another one at regular intervals. This will ensure that if the main drive crashes, the second drive can take over – no rebuilding and reinstalling head aches.
