Guest guest
SrI: SrImathE Gopaladesika manahadesikaya nama: Dearest all, Continuing on our pastime of enjoying Bhagavad Raamanuja vaibhavam: [as part of our series and service to Srivaishnavas to commeomorate the 1000th year (2017)] from the 27th verse of Yatiraja saptathi continuation (from last post) Just as how the Sun shines in the sky with its bedazzling rays, Udayavar beams with the same glitter and luminance. The Sun, due to its scorching heat, poses as a bother to many travelers. He brings in scarcity of water for the civilizations by making all the water on the earth to evaporate through his intense heat. He also at times causes forest fires and burns down many trees, plants and shrubs to extinction. But, Ramanuja on the other hand protects the subjects by liberating them from the clutches of samsaric afflictions of the kind of aadhyaatmika, aadibhouthika and aadidaivika. Ramanuja having seen the sufferings of the Lord’s subjects due to their sinful repasts, due to natural calamities like earthquakes, floods, wildfires, hurricanes, famine and lightening protects everybody by performing Prapatti or self-surrender at the lotus feet of the Lord. In this way Yatiraja glitters as the confluence of Agni, Chandra and Surya. The word tridhAmA refers to the Lord of Lords Sriman Narayana. He is the possessor of three worlds namely Thiruppaarkadal (milky ocean), Surya Mandalam and SriVaikuntam. Though the Lord resides eternally in these abodes, he has now made the heart of Yatiraja as his permanent abode, who remains ever contemplating, praising and worshipping Emperumaan Sriman Narayana. The same has been elucidated by Periyazwar in his Senniyongu (5.4.9) Panikkadalil paLLikOLaip pazhakavittu Odivandhu_en manakkadalilvaazhavalla maayamaNaaLan^ambee! thanikkadalEthanichchudarE thaniyulakE_enRenRu unakkidamaayirukka ennai_unakku_uriththaakkinaiyE [it appears as if] You have forgotten Your habit of resting comfortably on the cool, milky ocean and run away from there to reside in the ocean of this heart of mine! Oh Lord who is capable of performing such miraculous deeds (maaya manila nambhI)! Oh Lord of Periya PiraaTTi -MahA Lakshmi ! Oh Samastha kalyANa guNa paripooRNA! Lord full of auspicious guNAs! You have discarded the matchless places of Your erstwhile residence such as Milky ocean and the orbit of the Sun and have chosen this lowly heart as your preferred seat of residence. Your sowseelya guNam is beyond description.
