When they are breaking a stone in the hill they found blood coming out of a stone. Then perumal appeared in a bakthar’s dream that he is in Sampathgiri hill as santhamoorthy and prumal was installed in that hill and constructed a Maha mandapam.

Pulasthia Rishi and Bagavathya Rishi Performed thapas in Sampathgiri.

Perumal has given a mango to them for their thapas. To share that mango they quarreled with each other. In that quarrel Bagavathya Rishi chopped the hands of Pulasthia Rishi. Pulasthia Rishi performed 48 days thapas and get back his hands. Perumal appeared in his dreams and telling that he is there in Cheyyar River Near Kalappoondi as Uthsavar. This uthsavar has been installed in venugopala swamy temple by Pulasthia Rishi along with Sridevi and boodevi to curtail perumal’s ugram

Then Vijayanagara king constructed Venugopalan temple at polur.
