The background on the formation of this Temple is attached for your reference. That report as made out by Sri R.Vasudevan, ( popularly known in Kanchipuram circle as Sri Poondi Vasu ). He has been instrumental for many kainkaryams for Sri Deva Perumal Sannathi, including his part recently ,in creating a new Vaahana Mandapam inside that Temple. For this special thirumanjanam, he along with his family members, relatives and friends, takes a lot of efforts and planning,to make this a highly succesful event every year. This is another case on how individuals can contribute to the society at large and at the same time retain the importance of old temples. Right from the morning,we can see the whole village turns up for the occasion. Kanchipuram Veda Ghoshti is there for the thirumanjana gattiams veda paaraayanam and Saathumarai. Bhattachariarars from near by temple are there to perform on this special occasion. Madappalli kainkaryam team are also in attendance for preparing offerings to Perumal and Siria Thiruvadi. As is common to all Sri Anjaneyar Sannathis, uthsava vigrahams are Sri Ramar, Sri Seethai and Sri Lakshmanar. A group of ladies and gents acting as volunteers in preparing cut fruits for panchamirtham for tirumanjanam. The madappalli is so huge, neat and capable of preparation for hundreds of devotees. You will be surprised to see inside that madappali, two very large granite slabs of nearly 20 feet long 4 feet wide and more that 11/2 feet thick, installed as two tables for prepartion of the offerings to Perumal. Looking at this alone in a very old temple, one can visualise that this temple must have been very popular in those days. All members of the team worked enthusistically to make this occasion a success every year, with full local participation. The entire village is fed with prasadams prepared on this occasion. I have captured as much as possible the entire scene in the Temple, with the permission of organisers and attaching with this youtube video movie as well as the history of this temple in word file. The purpose of this article is that whenever you are in Kachipuram, please include this temple also in your itenary and Sri Sanjeevarayar is there to bless you all. While going from Kanchipuram to this place, you will be passing through the nearby Sevilimedu temple as well as Saalakkinaru and Sri Ramanuja Sannathi. For your information, recently with the blessings of H.H. Srimath Andavan , Saalakkinaru has been a given a new look with a compound wall and kept safe from any encroachements and pollution from outside. A full report on this will appear separately.
