Anushtanakulam - Saalakkinaru uthsavam of Sri Deva Perumal Temple, Kanchipuram is held once every year on the day following "Iyarpa saathumurai" of Adhyayana uthsavam. Here Sri Deva Perumal with ubhaya Naachimaars and Sri Bhashyakaarar, travels to Anushtana kulam and Saalakkinaru. This is the place to which Sri Bhashyakarar was brought from Vidhya forests by Sri Deva Perumal Himself, in the guise of a "Veduvan " and showed Saalakkinaru. To understand fully, you may have to read Kanchi Puraanam. Every year Sri Bhashakarar visits Saalakkinaru, theertham is taken for Thirumanjanam of Sri Deva Perumal. You may view the chain of events held on that day in the attached picasaweb photographs, which has some movie clips also. I have taken youtube video clips also on the event, which I plan to release a bit later

Prakirtham Srimath Andavan is very much attached to this Theertha Kainkaryam for Sri Deva Prumal and has nominated a devotee to perform this theertha kainkaryam on a daily basis to Sri Deva Perumal Sannathi, carrying a potful of water everyday by walk for 6 KMs.The beauty is Sri Deva Perumal temple tower is clearly visible even today at that distance from saalakkinaru. This is done by a devotee by name Sri Lakshmi Narasimhan.

Another step, which Srimath Andavan took was that of safeguarding this Saalakkinaru by erecting a compound wall all around and suitable gates as well as carrying out repair works to the well itself to adiyen. As directed by H.H., this assignment was completed by adiyen and was submitted to H.R & C.E, through H.H. A picasa album on this work will be released separately.

Now all of you can enjoy viewing the chain of events happened at Anushtanakulam on 8th January,2010
