Srirangam Srimath Andavan Ashramam’s monthly magazine “ Sri Ranganatha Paduka “ is the most eagerly read book by all Srimath Andavan Sishyas as well as Ashramam abhimaanees all over our country as well as abroad. The eagarness among them is so great that even those, who could not read Tamil, are very much happy to receive this magazine by post every month, as it is coming to them from Ashramam with the blessings of H.H. Such is the importance of this magazine.

 

We at Ashramam as well as our Sampathakar, are very particular, that this magazine is not run on a commercial basis, but essentially cater to our Sampradayam matters and articles are solicited from eminent ubhaya vedantha scholars. But most of these scholars are proficient in our mother tongue , that is Tamil as well as Sanskrit only.

 

Our Ashramam has realized that many of our sishyas are domiciled in other states of India, other than Tamilnadu. A very large number of sishyas are permanently residing in states like Karnataka, Andhrapradesh, Maharashtra, Delhi and other places. Many of our devotees are also residing in overseas countries. Sishyas and abhimanees residing in those places, are not in a position to appreciate the wealth of articles appearing in Sri Ranganatha Paduka , as they could not read Tamil.

 

At the same time Ashramam also has found that the monthly subscriptions for this magazine is staying static and not growing.

 

Realising this our Ashramam has ome out with a plan to issue a translated English version of this magazine. Yes, what we say is translated into English version of the same Sri Ranganatha Paduka. This will be released every month with a time delay after release of the regular issue in Tamil. By this you will be able to enjoy the full depth of the articles which appeared in Tamil edition.

 

We have formed a team of volunteers who with a lot of enthusiasm, started working on translating as well as verifying the translation amongst themselves.

Through their efforts, the first ever translated into English edition of “Sri Ranganatha Padukaâ€, for January 2010, is now ready to be released. As the first step, our Sampathakar, Sri Natteri Rajagopalachariar has approved our process of translation ( Originalarticles has already been approved by him ). Then the next step is to get the approval from H.H. prior to release and with His Srimukam.

 

Every step has been followed and the January 2010, Virodhi Varusham ,Thai Maasam, Sri Ranganatha Paduka is now in your hands as an attachement to this e mail.

The reason for putting their names here is to inform you that you will have perfect quality of translation of this well respected magazine , when you receive.

 

Now to conclude, the whole exercise has to be self sustaining. The first issue is being sent to you as an introduction and compliment from Ashramam. The next issue of February 2010 ( Maasi issue ) also will nreach all of you shortly as our introductory free issues.

 

From March 2010 onwards, we would like to enroll rs for the E Edition,particularly for overseas rs. However, we would request most of the readers to pre register their intention to subscibe. This preregistration by those in India, will be very useful, to gauge the volume , which will help us to estimate, whether a print edition which can be mailed to everyone in India or E Edition nitself will be sufficient. We will announce a very reasonable subscription rates based on the response from all of you. Please do respond to this request at the earliest.
