Guest guest
Good morning everyone, When I was staying in Minneapolis this room-mate of mine had an arangement with AT & T so that 5% of the monthly telephone bill goes to the organization that he belonged to. I was wondering if we could also set something like this so that there is an indirect contribution from those of us using AT & T (I am sure many are). I tried to track this down and hit upon a AT & T Foundation web site (http://www.att.com/foundation) where they talk of various grants and other good stuff. It also talks of giving a written application for this to be set up. Does anybody have any info on this. Regards srikanth
Guest guest
this is response for Shrikanth's suggestion regarding AT & T indirect contribution. I also thought about it because Montgomery county school system (I am from Montgomery county, Maryland) has a AT & T learning point scheme. For every long distance we place through AT & T, it credits the school account a certain amount. VMS should definitely think about it and possibly set up an account with them. It is a great idea. If the motion is passed, I can investigate more about it. Rama Srinivas

I would request other members to investigate with other long distance and local telephone and other utility companies. For those of you who may not be familiar with official VMS status, VMS is a registered non-profit corporation in the state of Maryland. We are trying to get tax-exempt status from IRS. > Regards, Vasu --
