Guest guest
Dear Bhakta's, Following on the previous mails, I would like out your views on dairy milk, cheese and buttermilk got in grocery shops. This issue was sometime back discussed at length on the Dvaita list, but I thought i might as well have one again. Personally, after having read about the kind of illtreatment meted out to the cows here including feeding them with animal bones and other harmones, I feel I am actually consuming in a way " non-vegetarian milk, and buttermilk " and ofcourse indirectly participating in the process. However, the people at Horizon and other such companies have been publicly adveritising about " Organic Milk " and its purity as compared with the regular Vitamin-D milk we get in relatively larger quantities. But, unfortunately, I have not been able to find Organic milk in any of the grocery-chains. Are any of you aware of the places on can obtain this? Please let me know if you are. I guess the same applies to cheese, buttermilk and a host of other dairy by-products. It is said that food is the most important source in our thought process, and consumption of any " non-veg " food directly or indirectly would affect us in the wrong way. I feel that our elders have really used a lot of logic and laid out proper guidelines in all aspects of life according to what's been prescribed in Shastra's. including food intake, and moden day scientists & doctors are just supplementing the facts with their own experiments. With the kind of lifestyle and constraints surrounding us here, it's difficult to adhere to all rules but at the leaset we could just try to do our best in deciding what/what not to consume. Just my 2 cents worth!! Best Regards Sudhir.
Guest guest
Ref: Sri Sudhir Kashyap's message on milk. We have, for quite some time now, consumed only organic dairy products. There are many companies, including Horizon, that arket organic dairy products. We find them locally in the big grocery chains, Wegmans and Tops. It is also available at natural food stores. Apart from more lofty issue, the organic milk, like other organic foods, just taste wonderful. Try organic juices. You'll never buy any other kind of juice after that !! Regards..
