Guest guest
I fully agree with Vasu and the plan sounds solid. VMS and the Madhwa community at large will be greatful to Professor Hebbar, Professor Zydenbos, Sri NAPS Rao and other volunteers to help set the record striaght with EB and possibly other forums. I will however communicate our efforts to Sri Puthige Swamiji as a way of keeping him advised of our activities. I will do so after the Aradhane function in Detroit. Namaskara. I agree with Dr. Zydenbos and sri NAPS Rao that we should not get emotional on this. I agree that these mistakes are probably as a result of ignorance and laziness as opposed some evil intention. As Dr. Zydenbos mentioned, this entry, even though it is important to us, is not one of the top concerns on their list. My guess is that EB people will respond to a reasoned response that quotes other academic studies in this regard. So, what is the next step? I request some volunteers to come forward and work with Dr. Hebbar and Dr. Zydenbos to put together a reasoned response and a revised biographical note on madhva. I suggest that this work be done outside this list and the final work be shared in this forum. Please let me know (E-mail to vmurthy) if you are interested and I will put you on a separate E-mail list intended for this kind of work. VMS/CMS along with Dr. Hebbar and Dr.Zydenbos can send the response to EB. I request sri NAPS Rao that similar steps be taken on behalf of ABMM and/or with the association of estemeed Dvaita scholars like Dr. Pandurangi and Dr. BNK Sharma in India.
