Guest guest
Friends, I want to remind people about the E-mail list etiquettes. Couple of people have complained to me about personal messages on this list. I want reiterate a request not to send personal messages (messages intended for 2-3 people) to the E-mail list. This list now has more than 100 rs and it is annoying to receive messages that are intended only for a few people on the list. Some of it might be unintentional since hitting the reply button will send the message to the list when the real intention might have been to send the reply to the original sender. So, please please be careful in sending replies to list. Spontaneous and unstructured communication is one of the benefits of the E-mail lists. With that freedom comes the responsibility to use it judiciously and appropriately. Let us keep the list interesting and useful to all of us. I want to close this E-mail with the short sri hagrIva stotra composed by sri vAdirAja whose ArAdhane falls on this Friday. This is a short stotra suitable for daily pArAyaNa by children and adults. I have done the translations with my limited knowledge of Sanskrit, I request others correct if there any errors. (Transliteration is in baraha format) shri hayagrIva sthOthra hayagrIva hayagrIva hayagrIvEthi vAdhinaM | naram mumchamthi pApAni dharidhramiva yOshitha: || Sins run away from person who utters Lord hayagrIva's name repeatedly just as women run away from a poor person. hayagrIva hayagrIva hayagrIvEthi yOvadhEth | thasya ni:sarathE vANi janyukanyApravAhavath || A person who says Lord hayagrIva's name repeatedly will have his/her speech like the flow of the river Ganges. hayagrIva hayagrIva hayagrIvEthi yO Dhvani: | vishobhathE cha vaikumTa kavAtOdhGAtanaxama: || A person who says the sound of Lord hayagrIva's name repeatedly will have the doors to vaikumTa opened to that person. shlOka thrayamidham pumNyam hayagrIva padhAmkitham | vAdhirAja yathi prOktham paTathAm sampadhAm padham || These three sholkas which are told by saint sri vAdhirAja and which have Lord hayagrIva's blessings, will give the readers all the auspicious blessings. sri vAdhirAjAya nama:, BTW, the couple of VMS volunteers are putting together a list of stotras for daily pArAyaNa. Watch out for an announcement on this shortly.
