Guest guest
[i am sorry I am extending this thread again. But I have to voice my opinion. If you don't want to read this, there is always the " delete " button] On Mon, 22 Mar 1999 22:27:27 +0530 napsrao <napsrao writes: >napsrao <napsrao > >Dear friends, >Apparently some person thinks that " bickering " has been stopped >due to the intervention of the moderator. While I am all for a >constructive and courteous approach to all controversial issues, >I think it is totally unfair to call what transpired as > " Bickering " . ================ There is no doubt about that. Also, like Krishna (Kbappanad), many members just send one-liners to the list. If you are on the CMS list, you know what I am talking about. For a while, the list was being flooded with one-liners. Very few individuals take the time to make real contribution. Among these individuals, Shrisha Rao has contributed the most and I don't think any member will disagree. I have also had a quarrel with Shrisha Rao but I honestly admire his commitment, sincerity and honesty when it comes to helping the Madhwa community especially the NRI one. Shrisha Rao is not getting paid for his work and I don't think he is learning anything significant from other members either. It is mostly one-way traffic. He and a few others post and the rest of us just read. While all of us can read, write and understand English, how many of us know Sanskrit ? Chances are- less than five. How many of us know Kannada? May be a hundred or two hundred. Now, how many of us know Sanskrit, Kannada and English and are willing to translate mAdhwa literature into English and post them on the list " voluntarily " ? Let us be honest here. I don't think there are that many. It is easy to complain. Everyone can do that. However, when it comes to " voluntary " contribution which involves our time, we all try to stay as far away as possible. If Krishna (Kbappanad) feels that all the discussion over the last two weeks was just " bickering " , it just shows the casual attitude he has towards serious matters. Regards -Nataraj >that Acharya Madhva and his Thathvavada are not misrepresented >and criticised explicitly or implicitly. A casual attitude to >this kind of situation does not bring any credit to us - either >our commitment to the cause or knowledge. >NAPSRao > _________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
