Guest guest
Dear Vasu, The forum defines the frame of reference. For example, if I send a paper for publication in a journal in my area, I cannot quote Srimad Acharya, even though every sentence he uttered may deserve a Ph.D. Similarly, if a forum is called Vishwa Madhwa Sangha, the name implies that it is a collection of people who to this philosophy (including the concept of MukhyaprANa). So, if anyone wants to discuss something using a different set of rules and beliefs, they should choose the correct forum to express their views. They cannot expect the forum to adapt to their reference in a dynamic fashion. Does this make sense ? Will the journal that published the paper that was discussed recently adapt itself to accept a paper based on my beliefs as to what are the pramANas, as long as I state them up front ? Just a thought for you to ponder over. Regards.. Mukund
Guest guest
Dear Fellow Madhva-listers, Vasu Murthy wrote at length about several " frames of reference " for discussions on this list. I will not append his message here in order to keep this brief. The 3 frame he mentions are >1. Madhva frame of reference: >2. Philosphical frame of reference: >3. Academic /historical frame of reference: This seems to be a reasonable compromise and would make the list inclusive of people with different perspectives. AS somebody else emnioned there is always the " delete " command if one doesnt want to read postings from a given " frame of reference " Namaskar Shri ====================================================================== Shri Kanekal phone: (301)286-6517 Code 696 FAX : (301)286-1648 Goddard Space Flight Center Greenbelt Road Greenbelt, MD 20771 ======================================================================
