Guest guest
Purnaprajnya Samshodhana Mandira As you are aware, celebrations centered around the sixtieth anniversary of sanyaasa sweekara of HH Sri Vishweshatheertha Swamiji of Pejawara Matha is going on in a big scale in Bharat. An appeal in this regard was also recently posted on various nets. It may be worth our while to contemplate on these events and their relevance to our community and the Hindu community at large. In itself, the sweekaara of sanyasa by an individual is a significant event. When this is coupled with a mathaadhipati of one of our mathas, it takes on a special meaning to us. However, the current celebrations are actually a celebration of our philosophy, with Swamiji being only a focal point of the same. Why so ? Well, let's think about some of the outcomes of a few initiatives of Sri Swamiji. 1. It is a fact that, just a few decades ago, there was little being done to educate our people in the traditional manner. So, Purnaprajnya Vidyapeetha was started in Bangalore. This has become a major veda paathashaala with thousands of trained pandits following aadhyaatmika way of life. Each one of them have, in turn, educated many more. Many of us personally have benefited from some of these graduates of Vidyapeetha. 2. A few decades ago, very little was being done to preserve, publish and research our philosophical texts. So, Purnprajnya Samoshodhana mandira was started. Today, a band of scholars, including stalwarts like Prof. Prahladacharya, are doing tremendous work in bringing tattvavaada to the mainstream of philosophical studies everywhere. 3. Just a few decades ago, the thought of taking your dear ones in need of medical attention to a free hospital run by our own people would be unheard of. Today, thanks to hospitals run by Sri Swamiji, some of us have personally been able to do so. 4. Can you even imagine a mathaadipati walking into a slum dwelling of harijans and performing Sri Krishna pooje there ? Sri Swamiji had the guts to do so. I heard a very emotional account of this from a person not even active in our community. 5. Is it not a proud moment for all of us when one of our mathaadipatis is involved in bringing relief to people, crossing all boundaries, every time there is a natural disaster anywhere in Bharat ? 6. And, the list goes on. The leadership that Sri Swamiji has shown has caused ripples. Other mathaadipatis and organizations are doing wonderful things that we can all be truly proud of. So, friends, let us celebrate. It is not a matter of donating money. Let us perform special pujas to Sri Hari, whose prerane alone can bring about the renaissance that we see in our community. Let us say a prayer of thanks to Srimad Acharya who has shown us the true path. Let us be grateful to all the mathhadipatis and scholars who help us in our own personal saadhane. Let us also strive to do things that is good for mankind, in whatever little ways we can. In this regard, I have a suggestion to make. I was recently in Purnaprajnya Samshodhana Mandira. While I was there, I saw a scholar sitting on a mat, deeply inolved in some books, totally unaware of his surroundings. I pictured myself in my office, surrounded by my fancy computer, laptop, access to libraries all over the world. I too would like to think of myself as a researcher ! But, who is the true researcher ? This scholar in samshodhana mandira whose output will affect generations on their spiritual path or me, trying to publish a paper that nobody will care about in just a couple of years ? Who is more blessed, this scholar who probably makes a small fraction of what I earn, but is content with his pursuit, or me constantly writing proposals for more funding ? The answers were very obvious to me. I was also thinking that these scholars could do so much more if only they had the facilities that I take for granted. So, I was pleased to see that one of the goals of Sri Swamiji is to take Rs. 30 lakhs from the collection at the celebrations at the end of this month and renovate Samshodhana Mandira with modern facilities. We, as a group, can probably attempt to make this a reality. Can we form a small group to work on this and pledge an effort at the celebrations that is coming up in a couple of weeks ? If you are interested in doing so, let's start a small group dedicated to doing this, on behalf on the maadhva community in the US. Let us celebrate. Sarvam Sri Krishnaarpanamastu.. Guest guest
Dear Hari Bakthas, Mukund's email really bring in the focus of what life is all about. The least we could do being in USA is to contribute to the noble cause which will have profound and significant impact on Madhwa siddanta. Please count me in on this and let me pledge $150 towards the " Puranaprajnya Samshodana Mandira " . Pejawara Sri HH Vishweshatheertha Sawmiji is truly a great icon of Madhwa Community. Any help from us all will not go far enough to what he has done to Madhwa community and all Hindus. Swamiji stands tall as one of the greatest person of this century. Guest guest
We were recently in India. Our contribution has reached swamiji. I think all Madhwas should join in this celebration & donate for the good work the great swamiji is doing. Lakshman Gambhir ---------- > P.R.
