Guest guest
Dear VMS Members, Dr. Aralumallige Parthasarathy, a professer at Bangalore University has taken up a noble, and wonderful GLOBAL MISSION of spreading great thoughts and stories on Daasa Saahitya, and Indian Values. His lectures have become famous all around the globe for their fervour, love, and passion with which he dignifies himself when producing these presentations. He has already visited many cities and delivered great lectures in those places as well. He recently visited our home in Chicago to give lectures on two different topics. His first lecture was in Kannada, and I must say, it brought me to tears at some points. It was completely on Sri Purandara Daasa, and his contributions to the Daasa Saahitya school and it's literature. He spoke beautifully on Sri Purandara's life, it was truly a feeling of closeness with the great saint that Dr. Parthasarathy allowed us all to have. He spoke as if he was in the midst of the very happenings-- a)--Srinivasa Nayaka's life before renunciation b)--How he began to see the error of his ways, living a material life etc. c)--His songs were also narrated with such precise beauty by Dr. Parthasarathy and he allowed us to be awed at the vast amount of songs the great Daasa had produced. Dr. Parthasarathy also gave a stunning lecture on the Bhagavata. He included the 24 gurus that are present in the world around us, those beings which allow us so much knowledge to learn, yet we always seem to miss them. For example, he told us about the elephant, and how it can be a teacher. How the air we breathe, how the water we drink, how the fire we recieve our heat from, how they can all teach us lessons in some way or another. And Dr. Parthasarathy allowed us to learn it, all in the context of Sri Krishna's speaking to Uddhava in the Bhagavata. He has written numerous books on these subjects which have also become famous. His books are easy-to-read and deal with hard, philosophical concepts with very simple language. I recommend to all who can read Kannada to read his books. Some English books have also been written by him, which are also stunning. He is a humble, yet brilliant scholar who all should meet. If one is yearning to contribute to a noble and just cause, then I urge all of you who see Dr. Parthasarathy during his tour of the US, to contribute to his heartfelt cause of spreading Daasa Saahitya, and Indian Values, especially to children. He is also hoping to set up workshops for kids so they can also become knowledgeable about the values and ethics of the Hindu religion. As he said so himself, " ...this is my passion. All people have their own passions, but this spreading of values and Haridaasa Saahitya is mine. " Sincere Regards, Kaushik Gururajan _____________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web.
