Dr. Sadagopan has offerred the services of the same team for producing the CD-ROM of sri mAdhvacharya. He has a whole team of people assembled in India that produced the CD-ROM. The team consists of graphic artists, recording artists, CD-ROM publishing and CD-ROM pressing. He is willing to let the content and editorial control come from Dvaita scholars and volunteers. The total budget is about $10000 with $5000 needed to begin with. Smt. Shobha Srinivasan suggested that we can use fund-raising from mAdhva businesses in India as well for this purpose. I will forward the sample contents of the sri RamAnuja CD in follow up mails. It looks like they have used the multi-media capabilities very well. We may choose a different format or emphasis in the materials. I think we have a golden opportunity here to come up with a well produced CD-ROM that can address the needs of laymen, children, as well the needs of scholarly works in English in a single CD-ROM or a set of CD-ROMs. It needs committment of resources (money and time) from all of us to make it happen. I feel that the madhva community abroad can do this project at this stage. I am assuming that 70-80% of the budget should come from outside India. A lot of graphics , photo Images , audio clips and videos , maps for pilgrimage can be included given the storage capabiliy of the CD ROM and its multimedia nature .Ease of navigation is an important issue with the AchArya RaamAnujA CD ROM and I am sure that you would like to emphasize that as well . It is possible that you may decide that having a rich web pages would be sufficient instead of creating a CD ROM . We have been having this idea of developing this title for the Madhwa community for some time through this media. We were wanting to not only spread the words of wisdom by our great Acharya but also have the historical account of great seers in this lineage. We were quite enamoured by the activities of Cyber Madhwa Sangha and have been silent participants till now. We would like to have an opportunity to serve Sri Madhwacharya through this unique effort. We have been in the field of multimedia development and do understand the technology involved in creating the multimedia content. Is it appropriate for us to contribute by creating this CD for the Madhwa community certainly through the inputs of all the scholarly members? As we are in close vicinity to Poornaprajna vidyapeetha and also have access to the family of scholars. We would like to do it with due regards to Dr. Sadagopan. Namaskaras to everyone. Obviously one of the most Herculean tasks would be to collect all the information about Sri Acharya and then sorting through them. The other being the funding itself. VMS should take leadership in this great and learning endeavor.
